Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person) M0 R2 u" s: _5 C+ U7 L" E
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
9 }# o. X3 g8 a- `• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately. t, F$ D0 S( b) o* |0 K
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter0 n2 R, ?0 V7 Z: e* a! h. r
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents* P7 @/ p1 |& b" J+ n2 I# T* o
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker1 T9 N9 H% j0 [9 V S" G, P" `. H
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
4 r; Y6 u0 R2 U4 S1 m/ L2 n/ Y• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters9 E' ~+ X( Z* D. J" E

• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
) G* d+ w: B7 d% U+ I+ Y' J• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
+ [* W" J& w. u" g) E n• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset4 @% H% q! P/ G" i, {; ]
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
0 b# d* f$ e( L& t7 R9 e• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
9 r+ n$ n7 v, h2 m; S• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook3 ~2 c8 d3 N! j* V7 l# z
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately - o7 [, F/ y: B. g
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds p( A4 U2 X$ E: h8 K, U
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment/ k9 o; [$ n: ~) f2 R
• Knowledge of immigrant services `' f- i+ M: I! |8 K

. D; x* W' P( D1 ] n+ N• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
* T9 ?9 H* G: B( R" s• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment

• Ability to work well under minimal supervision$ A; h' B9 b0 q
