Job Purpose:
$ Z: x5 y9 U9 M! D; wTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ; ^; ?' ?4 T- S' }% w$ f

% G7 e9 m+ ^5 {2 BThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)+ w) R, v; o% }! f/ }

. E7 I" d: H* D6 `" p8 p9 SAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:  A1 g- Y3 C, x4 ]. c
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;0 u7 ^$ ?; N" J, u5 d' G7 ~8 O/ n
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
, i: u6 H' h6 b- D+ ~•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;- X' `* z' g, Q$ X
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 0 V6 ]6 W) L0 O5 f* G3 [% c
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  2 T5 m+ C* R2 f' e
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
' Q3 K3 M+ h8 S- x•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;1 `% ^! T8 e' P% p
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;: j: A' U6 t; p$ r' ~
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
3 h9 J1 p5 l; D+ _9 c/ [4 b1 f•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 N: j/ I- Q0 w0 r  Y' O•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;$ s: q: L3 u6 P: |) _, [
•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;9 U/ [$ o: f; Y: K6 U' U$ q1 g
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

9 }/ x; v$ o7 B, f; I* [! J* QQualifications:0 [1 {$ e4 H$ v/ l) f4 n% s
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
$ T! s! t+ h% L•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
/ x& `' Y/ z+ s$ |4 K•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
' v) m0 I! L$ J& k3 d2 O•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
, d; x2 H5 l. a3 H  l& C$ k/ B•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.  S8 _3 k# _0 s! o" J$ o
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;. u# q4 r$ h# x& b
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;/ }3 Z$ l% x! r# E
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;8 N& d! [: h7 f4 e) x
•        Current valid drivers license;1 o5 T. e3 G# J/ O2 W: L' C% |! v, g
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
, D4 o9 r3 W" M  o4 L•        Conflict resolution skills;2 t) K1 D4 f, p8 }5 [- J  Z
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
