To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ' N$ P. M% P U3 P

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)6 A ?; T, E: S

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;& V2 S1 E0 c, E/ `! U8 |2 t
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
% I; I u+ T: k: l4 k• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

• Risk Management and succession planning; T9 \* K. b1 h6 G
5 i4 X5 }5 C7 w! J' FProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
( b3 l3 ]. A" R* J! w, @1 p• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
4 i8 q- W" [% ^% h9 E8 B3 r8 A• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
3 t& j! t: P$ L2 q: p1 I" L• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
& Z+ ~5 n8 U, `3 \4 U• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
+ E& L" `# Z6 X8 v) R& t5 S• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
2 X7 ~( s2 G$ K• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;9 U/ @. G9 W9 b$ G5 X1 p3 a* i5 {$ L
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:8 m+ d, y: B, C( Y* x
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;) d- r$ D7 w2 b. M' U3 ]3 I
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
9 S: `# [ B5 R- A• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; # A! A/ I, K( _4 s- N
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;! i- r. t- w" E9 P3 @
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.) R2 d1 c5 B9 ]$ h0 a
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;1 M; @3 t6 W1 x3 d& f, Q6 P# g
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;) }& q, G% [5 d) v" D
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
; ]* r' D" r' s& I. d/ F• Current valid drivers license;& r& o) \2 P/ r% o( E
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;! k ~* ?# P$ }0 d
• Conflict resolution skills;7 T# r% D. ]7 O6 U/ K/ N. s0 R2 h0 X
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
& [9 l# a6 T; K* }: o• Committed and passionate about children;
