To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)1 E# l! V: d V, Y' \

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:" K+ P+ K" r8 ]
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;, Z! ^- x9 z9 v; ~$ E( [
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
+ ]; E7 I6 x% [, Y% t$ I. y• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
% _! T6 R2 y" B- D" w• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; & d" f2 h: r* g
• Risk Management and succession planning;

) i* U7 T+ u6 O8 }Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
$ O4 E8 _ _3 |3 z/ e• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;* j' l) k: C5 [! v" L8 W ]
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;# K$ V- {8 r) Q. a# a6 [" ?
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;4 w# H( V# t! Z, Q* t
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities! @8 _' Z$ d0 Y8 f7 C
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;( d5 b6 l- x5 |3 M3 w n! h! s$ H
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
9 q- _9 S" {4 {9 g• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;& m' B* J B7 {4 Y& p
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;
$ R( B& t$ o6 X, S9 P" i1 b$ v6 L0 Y$ n5 ]0 \7 k; b( k
Qualifications:* u! y, X! V4 g8 U- _+ F
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;$ _3 W; U/ w$ a: S/ P
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
; J n+ J4 Z% `2 J0 X2 c, M9 Y• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
9 I4 A! j2 {. P8 o' X" p• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
! r$ I7 X2 ?, H/ j8 _• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.+ r1 V$ k9 g1 f- |# ?% S& x
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;& \+ ^+ x, u& C
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
0 J# m% M+ M7 X. l F, c7 N• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;) M. e$ K3 x/ o) S' V/ i& X* d
• Current valid drivers license;
9 j& y/ X7 T0 k$ N9 M• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;' F& V& \+ N [7 Q
• Conflict resolution skills;
9 ?2 @& X* g/ z) s6 v! s% u A• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;* F2 N6 O$ s9 r' _5 x$ _
• Committed and passionate about children;6 X8 [4 F2 T- V) \+ P
