- s" [8 q% V3 k) E5 \) fTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:4 ]6 n% o3 c( E9 U5 c
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;/ ~& c/ h" `, |- h x, y( \8 P1 a
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;( M2 m _# F5 D1 O8 G' p5 _1 P: v6 H
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;

, a; V0 b7 Y: _( d6 J5 d• Risk Management and succession planning;* d0 E1 m, D9 m8 R5 c

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
5 _9 `: ]$ ^. O8 t• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;# m: U" v; \# o: |2 k* Y) x; s, t
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
: c: ^2 I/ J# B$ \+ y+ g$ \) O' d• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
3 V1 t# I) z2 z( ^# ~• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
4 ]! k4 s! R1 [/ ^• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
) I2 w0 | R# S• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

5 k/ _+ L5 C2 q" q' Q• Degree in communications, human services or related field;. i% q, P! w. w! |8 ]; ?
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;; e) t! K& i3 t; R" n% ^
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; : L" P/ ]# c# }* p( G+ _
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
, V, A- G# n6 n3 z! c# c$ c+ _' |5 v• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.: {2 X7 c9 A. q X) [
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
- `5 k5 v, t! m7 c$ A; b9 ^) x0 S• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;" S$ {! X6 |$ G) M3 A
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
0 L" u6 d. ?8 r• Current valid drivers license;1 t. U! G5 P: C/ _7 t# m
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
7 r! z( F5 T7 Y. }, h* T# N# ^• Conflict resolution skills;2 c! }" J" t3 H1 P, N
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;* i d& P1 @' S/ h8 d4 f X( s6 A+ O
• Committed and passionate about children;
