Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
+ ^; ^- C! _$ h; a5 {1 NTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

3 c" |1 z. R/ t1 T+ \; `3 W) gThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)( h. ~% j6 P. Y5 A  T4 J( s( m

8 R* e, Y3 H  |# u; cAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:9 H: S! w; p0 b4 V5 n0 s) U# O
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;6 u# G  r! |& J! j: U
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
. z0 S7 i+ ^! ?$ n/ X- Q, B) j0 _  Q•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
' e: n. s0 x! u. A' w9 z: g" z•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
( q( e  M2 G9 w+ V# `" E1 O7 u: Z4 H•        Risk Management and succession planning;
$ L) `$ U: W. R2 o% k  f) H9 a( ?! x  I/ Z& t: z
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  7 |* w# N) G+ h( n
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
' X7 B/ R9 Q- C•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;+ O  _. J; Y# z& \) ]+ A
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;. z* \: }7 j6 R
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
, ~5 o3 G$ Y3 d# b/ l# O•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
8 c, k4 c% W% ~; o+ K' \6 d+ w•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
+ ^: _1 C- Y8 X$ G) f  [•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;9 ^+ j8 b. E& p' }" O2 a
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
1 V2 O( v& _! j* ]% u0 T; `- W•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
. C3 n6 Q1 |0 Z! z8 O" F2 B•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
2 g' t  b8 \/ [! k8 E•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
4 j* ^9 W; r& C9 O•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;5 x) J" h; }( ~5 _; Q9 g
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.6 C9 P9 u& u* N5 @* I
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;% N' P* `' P0 A* x2 p2 G, d- c
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
* v/ G. E3 C8 d3 C7 Y0 l: W•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
0 D, X2 A+ D1 D9 r# p& v•        Current valid drivers license;
3 M0 m( ]5 O: _- n' O& J•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
5 I: r" h! Z# d- Z) A0 W•        Conflict resolution skills;) L& Q2 H" E  p# w
•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
. U' B6 M3 ^+ h•        Committed and passionate about children;2 ]* L- _# D! x0 O# Z' p: ~

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
