+ M' K% ~# m" {2 x( }$ I6 YTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. " i0 C0 n- K) B. ~" b3 ?! @# L+ w
- I' l& N8 y- |; eThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)6 p0 f. L% B; ~3 h- c8 O. \/ p
$ S- {9 w8 G+ g, x! O3 a# CAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
) s* o4 g9 n7 q. y; ^4 G3 f: x• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& A5 i& B" E; J6 E1 p S" ~9 |• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
% s$ f+ L5 P# d3 i# @; k* _& @1 e• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
% L. E7 a& q: `+ L• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: x& T2 V9 }( c' `
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
W. H. C' k8 G0 }" y+ M4 Y• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;- ~! k3 g9 M+ a2 }* O& {/ D; |
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;. G+ ]1 `6 q7 l8 d0 u
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
2 m1 X Q* b* }3 w5 `9 D2 g- V• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;% y F5 { _1 _ O
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;

• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
6 ]$ H2 m# c3 X) Q$ Q• Degree in communications, human services or related field;7 f" g! @9 c H' c
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' U' P2 \+ G; `* _; [( d6 N# d• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 5 H- D: F, \" H
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
. t( d6 ~$ T/ C" C9 ^• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.. ]# S6 { q4 z1 s
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;! W/ c* U; ^1 v
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;8 o3 K$ |# x2 y. q- z
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;: N5 T2 ]8 R1 x! Z3 [
• Current valid drivers license;! P7 x, C4 ?# d* t5 r/ q
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;7 g( e- T3 a% M+ V6 k2 V
• Conflict resolution skills;5 W. ]$ t( a2 l% E$ B' I9 a) b6 x
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;$ P+ g# {. }9 {8 @- @4 M
• Committed and passionate about children;% `+ Q. s* \4 Z' ]+ @
