Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

" f8 m0 Y( L/ i/ Z" WTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. ( R. [$ U3 k0 Y5 ], x# d

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
: m& K; \' f6 F0 u# U0 t• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;2 L8 f* q4 L1 G( B
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
4 F$ {& J# S3 W4 m: @% p• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 0 C- C/ j, a6 j9 E) @
• Risk Management and succession planning;0 X) ~6 M9 U& l
% Y; D7 x* J- B; L9 h+ j1 VProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:
! Q' o+ S$ }3 N$ L* k+ S• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
$ A5 \3 p2 k3 j" V' Y7 w ]1 H• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
. f5 S; T' B2 @ ~3 U8 H* [: b• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;: d% }; g4 l0 d2 q5 b
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities4 H0 y6 v7 G9 B4 w7 `4 Q+ p
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
9 l, |6 b6 _. ^$ k0 H* w) c• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
! T1 [5 C1 Y4 Y• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
" O2 k( p* o- c% c• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

" x) m( b0 | H" s, z4 @5 Y- C. l3 K• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
; ]* ]) g" C% S. B) W6 ]. @5 s( j• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
j9 X: x7 f7 a" U+ i2 U6 E• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 7 d8 f* X, Q g F
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
0 d! z5 S* o8 m/ D/ U, @4 p! C• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
9 l0 ?9 ^& x" p4 {! `• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;" d o+ s4 j" z+ Y
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
9 w8 s- F& R( o& \! u8 V• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
" ?# _: o# G3 _; w) a; ~) s4 X• Current valid drivers license;
4 L B9 D: R+ @7 k& L• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;2 k# Y) y1 o% X6 }
• Conflict resolution skills;& w- F5 V. X6 X
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;2 E) `4 {- E8 h1 c' }; Z& f# _( N
• Committed and passionate about children;
