To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 0 M3 B' j& U% M# U

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding) f) A+ @6 E) W& S7 r& T- r
+ m: ^6 c' Q; k: X" MAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
! e/ @2 P$ c. k5 k# O$ C% m• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
: w+ Z" G2 X1 a1 e9 v• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;, ~3 }$ z# h$ t" E
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
5 Z. i: Y! g2 R. x3 z• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; ' C5 H3 D( e, }( y+ U9 ~: ]
• Risk Management and succession planning;: t1 k; f/ s0 X( W; k Q# u4 X

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: 7 Q# q) J/ t, W* l
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;9 ], n5 W. c* G% V+ M
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
1 y( G6 ]* w, v• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;$ ^# c9 W$ r9 E$ I& {
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities8 `2 p5 h* Q' ^) G- x
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;: E- h. {5 P! W3 `/ x
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;0 D- n6 ^1 i5 ^' K. A( X, q( \
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
: }6 P5 Z( t: [2 \+ l+ ^, I# a8 p• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

" _% B7 k6 y2 l3 ]# w! VQualifications:
+ u( ^: k5 K9 n4 t5 }• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
! n; k+ P- n: s# m! q, F4 Q• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
7 u% o% X6 p3 d9 T o• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
' ~9 ]. [! ?) \) f. U• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;* k4 \& O0 \3 a% M
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
* p4 k+ K$ S e0 h. s0 u, [* n( Z• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;4 E0 P% T1 r/ M
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
/ i. o$ ~ y, E' B: o• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract; z$ k) c2 l6 b
• Current valid drivers license;
1 L( e: O& e$ g+ L" }. A• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;- `5 j: g' s$ C" |% L8 X
