Key Responsibilities

- provide volunteers to update membership database
4 j2 A. u% B# a, d- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers) ?3 v3 E6 T" X+ |+ v9 [
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties" B' m1 {7 z5 _8 S
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties' Y5 n$ j7 m4 s) k5 K
- provide volunteers for various programs $ `' ^! q# k! m! f4 M; @" s1 Z
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual# V; C# A p7 T9 t( ]3 P5 w- a$ e
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
9 b: |1 G$ A" G+ Z+ Q- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities: j/ l" ~5 k1 Y% B4 T9 ?. g# ~5 k
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services; n/ i9 L! g# N
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
' `/ Q) C8 P! Q8 K1 z7 F- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
8 C% z- v6 B5 a+ K6 X* q( V- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed

- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
! M# `4 B7 v+ L% A% X2 T- development and distribution of a volunteer manual : n6 P3 y9 k1 _5 W
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
0 z7 L2 x L& u: y- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
& R( B4 ]& z" n/ v* m: |7 I. S- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education1 W& b/ d* N! a. T- }' b7 N
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills j2 B# t* ^2 }3 _
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services) W6 Q- ~- Y, I5 s/ t5 ]
- leadership skills& S1 j$ V% q( O, D8 `" |( p5 G m
- management and supervision skills g+ ^; r" _- t
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
