Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- submit information for community news
, W" X" b) m$ X/ Z& ^8 q( ~- provide volunteers to update membership database
; s' Z2 W5 U+ r5 x' N) p- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
6 a; g4 r" {# g# ?& }- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties: Q1 N$ b" R: @. t0 ^) _7 W+ e
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties
9 s6 \1 T2 M! ]6 a3 H1 B$ e- provide volunteers for various programs
: e' R0 @9 @' N6 t7 x- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
- m( W6 J6 A2 E" Y* O0 l8 P& z- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
( q7 g k- o7 _2 T# R. {* M/ w- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities0 L6 h7 A3 N1 y+ ]4 [" @
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services; |' Q9 p& |# m6 E' y
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
8 A; h/ }% t* C, W1 q- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed

- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
9 o* F' ?" @+ Q- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
; P0 o, |- B2 }$ K# d- development and distribution of a volunteer manual ) v3 [( \0 d% x* K
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
. g9 Y' A+ I# G3 K5 a- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
) A! C" A9 S9 Q8 Z- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre1 S) U/ v0 T- A2 t. z) i% Y. D) r
6 Y9 B& z: h2 hQualifications8 \, ?' Q+ r) {/ D& ~9 u
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education
! B3 t' B. P# J8 p- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
k! C) ~$ ]* N5 I: x' p; g- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
/ w6 n( ^& r6 K/ R9 N9 t- leadership skills6 G. V# _0 i/ x' V# O6 B" ]
- management and supervision skills
