Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities$ x* N9 w0 _& E" n# n4 {
- submit information for community news ( }! \4 x- ~8 _5 r9 t3 e+ g
- provide volunteers to update membership database2 h4 L c5 ]) o9 O9 j8 l
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers2 }8 }, \2 F8 Q0 O
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
" a, c3 Z2 _3 G2 P: c- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties( q( ^$ C; a; |) z3 F
- provide volunteers for various programs . T4 w e) m; h. p; p5 I; ~
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
$ @- M: n, a7 _; Q6 a- ?9 C- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
; ^2 f+ m, A' \2 v. ?5 n( h- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities4 f# t' ^0 U! e$ Z8 v$ H; k
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services$ c. K/ Q5 t% M- e# i
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
0 K, k" `7 {2 {8 k) F2 r- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
- _9 F& @, v+ d, E2 H9 Q0 B- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed+ a+ A( |5 D2 I( U
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
$ @2 c9 f3 u- b5 D T7 x1 v% P- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ! p( s y! ^+ O; t
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 4 i! _1 a: ~9 r R; J
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers # D) V6 ?: r8 P7 @: j3 I( p% a
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
- o2 {1 V# L4 E- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
! }, r. g; j2 c/ v4 ]- evaluations & Z9 E$ u8 n! h- j5 B @, B& w$ C
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Qualifications
) B2 E1 e" Q& A6 s- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education5 M' O# L9 v9 E1 ?& h
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills; Y* L( `7 o5 j9 F' z( P1 o/ `
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services$ m8 {! {: G( r5 K
- leadership skills
$ G9 ]; F! h, g, O5 ^; v- management and supervision skills
; ?2 [8 V2 \8 ~1 }: @- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
! k8 H! f7 {! g5 b
