上了一个多星期的Job hunting 的Workshop
( N- N0 j; I5 [2 e; I1 T2 Q! c5.15 改完简历
; w3 W  N0 W6 e! H5.19 投出第一份简历，同时在以下找工网站注册登记上传简历
1 x( \; d% N$ T: I/ Z7 I! V截至5月30日共投出9份简历，其中3份为 公司直接招聘，6份为Placement Agency
. e" w5 n- j1 E- r  ?$ P5.29 收到freedom55financial ( A division of London Life) 的面试通知.是他们从网上搜索到我的简历的
5.30 收到两家Placement Agency的面试通知
* u4 K7 o! t1 ]) T5.30 去了freedom55financial，谈了约40分钟，Position is financial advisor，感觉像国内某些保险公司的理财顾问，但是具体业务可能有些不同，这里的包括child’s education、owning a home, retiring comfortably,还有少部分是针对公司的， 等等，需要一定的交际能力，networking ，具有一定的挑战性，发展自己的客户，除了基本底薪外，另外有Commission 。由于在国内厌倦了一些保险公司的SALESMAN 的喋喋不休，再加上是这家公司主动联络的我，而且此工作跟我的专业accounting  并不非常相关，所以并不太看重这个机会。有没有前辈了解这种工作？了解这个公司？ 对这样的理财服务大家的态度是怎样的？ 愿意接受吗？
0 ?, o: s+ L$ r" q6 d: I' B! }等有新情况，我会接着汇报。

不知在爱城的有工作的同胞有多少买过 London life 的 保险，做过退休计划 RRSP, 给孩子买过教育基金？

2 B. Z; H# O1 ?; A" [$ e7 |# r云月以前做学生的时候，在类似的单位做过。完全是做销售，和会计是完全没有关系的。

( z" D# H% t1 e) X; Q( Z2 ]8 U这种工作，如果楼主以前的专业是会计的话，当然是不去，没有任何好商量的。

谢谢，我也是不太想去，觉得挑战相当大，人脉关系非常重要

今天咨询了一个在做financial advisor 的朋友，他的看法比较全面，给了我一定的启示，不过，通过这件事，倒是对有关的保险、投资、节税等有了一点了解。希望将来能做自雇人士，替别人tax planning.

& [, i& s5 e  X" Q! t1 f$ g今天还去了一家volunteer 中心，登记了一下，呵呵，看看有啥能帮助的，这也是networking  的一部分呢

还去了timhotten 填了张Application form, 他们现在 work 4 hours , pay 5 hours 呢！

Today, I just got a reply from an placement agent at David Alpin Edmonton branch. She listed quite a lot advantage of living and working in Edmonton. She claimed that there was a shortage of accountants and the demand was growing. However, I did not see any big difference in people's experience posted on this site from any other Canadian cities. Or maybe the accountants are busy working and no time posting here.=)

David Aplin 相对档次低一点，要找好一点的，还是要去Robert Half。不过这也要看个人的实力和缘法了。

Robert Half也帮着找全职呀，你为什么没有问呢？

& M' Z8 v2 u$ t6 B. p* d) g做项目顾问这一块，你不签合同，他当然就不理你了，其实那个合同是什么约束力都没有的，所以其实应该先签再说。不过你决定不做，就无所谓了。

多谢云山兄这么支持小弟，不过和中介打交道确实没有什么底，回头好好听听专家的意见！有的人说中介很慢，基本上要１个多月。
