- z4 Z; a3 h- R9 {+ l6 j3 ^3 y* v• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed% k& [3 z& J& }* g
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components& p- }) p$ Q. Q/ V0 y' @
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
7 P% F, d& E( d6 X: a• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams/ n5 [' H+ U# V" U" z2 u! ], K" q
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
K; q) Q8 b! j1 w6 |) f! |5 Q• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment% D2 k' h$ h% @2 U G; n1 s
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
7 Y* h& @/ w n- x4 m, A0 H' P& C• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
. [' E' O( F) F• Mix paint, blend and match colors
1 o2 S2 k, U6 [4 X) I# \" w6 p• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
5 _, g; H, U' @• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
; x+ k+ u" V, ?" T• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
! `6 Y* h" O; E- u. C; A6 s• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling

• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
, }/ H( S7 m8 ~5 D2 e0 j• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
