Job Description:
7 p6 ?6 p% u5 `/ c4 ^3 Y• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed7 a; N6 n: s5 O+ ]
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
T" |' [. y) Y4 {7 j0 R2 m• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers, X8 h9 I8 U) T, l( L u$ A
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
5 G, T& u! N: l: Q• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
% s! n! e. A- y9 \1 e& A3 X• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment, |6 B! |* j9 r' V
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools" S* I( B% N% z) R# t; C
• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
" e; G/ [' W) ]- T1 M• Mix paint, blend and match colors6 o9 P" c N8 |8 p: t7 v% L% m4 O
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
7 N8 V/ ]3 {5 [• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs Y' I# H+ v' Z" u
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:. T/ l& n- T2 f Y6 H
• Completion of secondary school is required1 A: a; x: T' F4 w8 q
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program 4 ~# T! z. V" R+ Q T1 ]
or: o! n" k$ `, o
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
2 @% N; \) }9 ^7 a, M• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 3 E* h, u& ~' s1 w, U! @
