Responsibilities  
Identify and evaluate strategic technologies that are beneficial in enhancing storage and backup infrastructure services

% O" j/ b1 J# W4 @! U, kProvide secondary triage of client issues and problems that have been escalated from the Service Desk
5 }5 ?) A& l" ~! f& Z$ r6 W$ S# n
Install and configure NetApp  Data OnTap, HP EVA Storage Array hardware, HP Tape Backup products, CommVault Backup software, Legato NetWorker Backup software (Legacy) and various other appliances

8 _: f( u2 p( D2 M0 [: IWorking with other OSS team members to identify, plan, and configure Solaris, HPUX, Linux and Windows servers for integration into the Storage and Backup environment

7 o  y6 s8 u' [6 JManage applications that support the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including  CommVault, Legato NetWorker, DPM, Quest, and other custom applications

" \! @$ z, }4 a! k) I7 zImplement and support vendor and industry best practices and procedures for the storage and backup environments

" L/ k" W% W; `! u( MProvide recommendations and design strategies to improve the operation of the environment based on analysis, trending and forecasting

) |5 }0 A, y/ [) C* [4 Y# P5 {Design and implement processes and procedures to improve the operation of the environment.

; I* j5 {- B1 rWrite and maintain Perl / shell scripts for day to day administration and automation
# h6 _( X, X4 x8 j
* G/ R7 a) o- j* R. R& J8 |Liaising with IT customers to determine their requirements and ensure that business needs are effectively translated into solutions

Provide after hours support for  business critical systems  
+ W- F/ T. G: n  B" A1 b Qualifications  
, K2 b: i& x  E2 U: i8 Q- @ A degree or diploma in Computing Science or Computer Engineering or a related Information Technology discipline

Excellent working knowledge of SAN topologies and technologies with a primary emphasis on NetApp data OnTap, HP EVA storage arrays and Brocade switches.Previous experience managing a SAN with the above technologies is mandatory

Excellent working knowledge of CommVault Simpana 8 or higher,  Legato NetWorker backup software

Excellent working knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts

$ {, R; K: k/ C$ d  DPrevious experience with administration of Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and/or Windows would be an asset

6 G' t8 h% V9 ?" Y; f9 L; n- zExcellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively with various levels of management

2 z# ?  p& u8 n1 ~+ [A high level understanding of IT technical infrastructure requirements for large enterprise deployments

# x7 m1 h' o! i% @3 B, \, N' CAbility to interpret business drivers and translate into technical solutions
; @+ Z1 K9 h! d; M4 ]! @6 D0 Q
( M+ {0 E; L! i1 NThorough understanding of Information Technology business practices and processes, including ITIL

0 M0 M0 G" k, O5 p5 F6 \7 H. jAbility to excel in a self-directed environment

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio, is an asset

6 e3 O" a* C) z9 D; x) l: U3 bValid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract
