Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

5 G6 p% t% `0 y• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person. k( u) W0 p/ W, M
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST% Q1 ]# \/ C0 J
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately+ n, Y: g# q7 R" o
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter% Z* y/ E. T+ ~6 a
• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings( u9 l$ D# X$ c
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents( U9 S J/ K. _& n t
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
- E$ |! \8 W9 s, X• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events# j" Z6 @( X' l# u" |0 l
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events7 T8 V8 a. ?2 E J6 B4 W
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean/ Y& ?/ u) P( q0 D
• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
# o( L9 V' K% G) g! H2 H' }• Maintain front counter service files
& W3 |( I. D/ F9 Z6 ]0 e+ ]• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
: C2 p- ~) y# e, z( R• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person8 b# n% y: b! L" d' j; ^2 H+ @
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
& R9 p$ a! X" W) r' p4 J4 h* j% ~• Good English writing and oral communication skills9 @5 x9 a* E# `
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
0 f' @" l& `/ ~9 F8 u6 E• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook- l# L, y9 ~) ^: }' M+ [3 p- z
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 6 V9 g" Q/ W% T |
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds# L# F5 ^# s7 W
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:, J1 A8 g5 x/ J/ i5 W
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience , \! S* ~$ H( f% V2 l8 Q! O
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
8 N' z* l J0 E6 T7 v• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism |" p X/ ]& S( q2 A& w* f& O
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
