Job Responsibilities:# s2 l( \: [% i* g. @% \
8 H" ?9 w: z6 U" b/ \( DPayroll:% Q4 X# m) R* T. x1 ?% i# C
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
9 A$ |4 @: {; Q, X3 I) w* M• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
2 W6 H6 b1 \3 L: I• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
% F2 R" S6 a% c; C! K5 D• Input benefit deductions into payroll
8 b% @1 N+ I- Y, O% {1 l8 M6 Y' @' C( Z2 w8 V
Reporting duties:
+ |5 N' K& a4 \( h( X. ^* d5 b• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
$ ?( e w5 A% O% g) }3 c, Z• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
; a d6 u5 }9 s/ }• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
. t: e! R d# v# Z* k- T• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority/ c; V/ i6 z' ~7 S; X; C1 w' z
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

2 c) }6 y" X, E$ g' }$ L/ I( l• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 8 u/ k8 |4 j& l6 C: X4 \$ }+ X! \
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.2 {( j6 c! C5 P: ~. u0 n
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies" z% M9 { Q5 o% }: O/ e3 n
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting' i0 ?4 j* b% t

$ S) @0 E5 p S. m/ }2 @4 a• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
2 \9 Z g$ \2 S% o. h' b4 A2 R$ X• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
) m4 e. ~- \$ t" U) V) f* f4 F• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments3 B2 g& x7 P7 z; ~1 N
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing6 Z# m) n% i( c5 V

Qualifications:# l+ V3 C$ a! ^( \& Q- }6 w# ?
! b/ C$ o1 m2 _• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
5 O0 b8 N3 I1 g9 Y, z8 K5 b/ u• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
. L$ } P9 r; B* c0 j• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position

• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
