YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 1 L# R1 O& g9 ?9 U' S: S- _
Job Responsibilities:# z T4 }: E. V8 k

Payroll:
5 D# a+ @% B* G& D• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
0 {: n4 `- D6 O; C7 D• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll( u( u( Z) x* Y/ S2 b
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
9 S: `9 {' N) J/ Y5 R% o• Input benefit deductions into payroll
$ q6 J/ }. W8 ?$ G; g8 T' k! i4 t% |0 G% \5 Z) G$ u; ^
Reporting duties:5 H: T" s# H0 @9 |/ G+ {
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider5 n9 l0 z% f# w. |7 i- f' I# X
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
$ }) M* K) x* G$ V- n• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s. K) p ?6 z4 A1 F* w5 ^6 a
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
( _; a9 g3 u3 q! K; i/ n• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

% C; A3 r' k# `/ n/ i' ]5 b' x! Y- _' `Compliance:& z/ m# U. H* x
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 4 z; B- p- l) G" X9 y, Y/ t# K
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
& c( L% ^2 j! z; C* K• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
! f! F3 C% g# ^8 E# R• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting8 ^( p* Z# \5 w" D
4 W2 r* J0 ~. r" y4 ?Accounts Receivable:% J0 Z* @4 S, R/ X# h
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
& b" }6 _9 S' T" U1 g. B• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department8 X7 A) H- L6 G" F ?7 r
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments6 u9 y! j+ g" n+ b1 _+ {. B3 G; [) C
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing+ p1 z0 a3 F' j' W! `0 F

Qualifications:& h" G7 w1 x5 s6 n
1 o% u. z4 ~3 L' e• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP& Q3 |2 ]1 t9 b9 T' m. ^
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association- ~" U7 j) P" h# m: |- h& q
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
0 w2 l8 e0 o' _+ i G5 ~0 s6 J• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office$ z, k/ e& n- F! ]# Q
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work1 K j" Z+ i3 L6 }1 d
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
