YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

' Z* s4 X1 k8 j# [, b$ E5 c• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
0 _6 b! l, M3 s. v$ r• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll; q% O5 i E3 S, V B
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
0 ]% u* S/ H6 O# j" [# g6 V i: I• Input benefit deductions into payroll4 I: C8 z# I0 k* i( _3 O

Reporting duties:
- G S1 R: F1 s" A; C: {• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
% J- p* R2 ~" T+ `* a% W# E• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
: _ D$ G! `; n, G+ l7 d8 _, H" @( l6 ~• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s* N$ g2 e9 h) [; x" g# D
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority; g9 G8 M3 e1 c
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll ) X& K9 ~0 ^" d" h M9 Q6 u
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
+ p6 y( E( P0 i. V. o; a• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
0 \' W: v& t- |! {4 L! v0 h9 Z• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting! V' w) ]" i( ?$ T/ K9 h

Accounts Receivable:2 e! u) d* }7 @. R1 b. V+ x
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit; P) o( n- f7 |1 \/ O: n8 W, }' c5 J
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
4 @' J. g& N0 b8 x p• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments

Qualifications:( Y2 n% t6 @& e: b) V
% Y) y0 z: y; a1 ~• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP% F8 i4 p! _/ L+ p
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
: |+ D7 O: Y( t' {5 @1 X: S• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
& c6 @4 Q. r* u& d: x3 W• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office% J' `( s5 l7 z. u q
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work- V+ w. k2 K9 A1 w+ Q# u* Y& r
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure8 Y$ q! y1 Q$ N5 M5 q' S
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
