Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
) m3 Y( k, n4 ?$ ]• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll: C, J4 ~6 `- D8 {# _0 a
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
0 f) x5 O7 D2 k2 z4 O• Input benefit deductions into payroll
0 r. O3 w4 @+ C* m; S$ i4 ?& }
, ?) p5 X2 T4 C4 wReporting duties:
# B1 n% l5 x1 j/ r% \; G• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider9 W* k' q2 `5 M: y( R' s
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website% W+ z# S3 [& @& x5 Y2 Q. R9 d5 o5 ]
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s4 p/ X, }/ Y: q6 ]
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

; J* M+ S+ W0 }! S" b: z• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll , \: S5 U C, V- f: L* ?4 V1 K: @
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.3 I J1 S# L9 U
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
7 Z1 p7 r8 k* V# r& d8 }" d• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit; a$ C) d% W! N4 v+ ^
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department% M& D; T; h* ? t/ k
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments b* a: x w% B4 D. @2 J% c8 d5 ^
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:/ W) t( E9 ^6 y* C, i0 M
* v" {, C' A/ }
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP- a q. \, v& ~5 B
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association6 U1 T3 s) _8 B+ D4 I
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
) S3 C' z& k* P% b• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
( c R. S) m% |• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work0 L" z. G4 ?. _8 T$ g3 v
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure% D3 h1 V* t3 {3 j% ^2 z$ z3 v0 g
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures3 H! x( T; _5 F$ R% V' ]2 @1 i% i
