Job Responsibilities:

• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired( Y2 q5 Q. X, s- T
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
) A) d8 m, l4 [4 p9 q1 K: l4 j# A• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records / s/ ^. g- J- T G$ ^$ I9 C
• Input benefit deductions into payroll
! S! M3 X; \# B q# N& D3 k9 j! ]/ @8 W5 c+ q8 V
Reporting duties:% r+ @) H; P! F( E W) [
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
* i+ H( c* q0 k) G1 q' Q• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website* v5 q4 p' I4 V
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s/ h) k. @) h% c0 ]7 c; V
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority% d) a( S/ M& q! @ w) `$ O: }3 H3 c& v
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

z2 S) i, j" `1 D6 h+ RCompliance:
6 Z7 p1 t; c% g/ j" _- U( H• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
, o& Z$ u" r* r" i• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.$ C. D0 c6 b s, l+ D W! `
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies8 ~# o1 `! P) B" ~/ ~' b/ w5 y2 d
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting3 z; n/ j/ C6 l! y* P

• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
, R! N* U: y5 G4 R1 l o• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
( l1 _9 M9 Y, o. d1 z• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments5 U. D( e3 \5 |( D; V2 u7 r
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing) `' n+ e- C: a/ f, K! A' \0 J
% ]! t: o. s( N' _& g! w3 _Qualifications:' x1 `" Q7 w/ \# x9 r/ [
/ c: Q2 c4 O8 {* o/ M* e4 ]• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP9 h& Q6 d" O3 Q* [. \* B6 m9 y' U1 _
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
9 c1 Q" x& O2 m; g$ p' J4 R• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
( g$ U: A4 p8 ]• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office0 t2 Y" J" C% @9 l( a$ N N2 B3 h z4 h
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work

• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
