YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

$ H( D# ~/ Z% y4 y F- QPayroll:
% n( u! W3 e& J: k! N) N• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
" m9 {6 e; K$ D; f• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
: U2 v; ]1 w/ }* {( Z+ z• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 1 i i9 n% u3 K* u- s
• Input benefit deductions into payroll5 {0 b7 n& X! Y
) \% m8 p& ~4 e' M" ?/ ?Reporting duties:
& h: T6 B! _! Y1 j+ p8 x• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider$ m/ a1 L2 {2 d+ C
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website' Y4 t! d2 z" n5 n3 @ n" U4 X5 u
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s, B/ A, c5 b3 n- A6 ~- S8 H& z
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
7 K) Z& C* S! F, b/ f• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
$ Y! U$ k" t; `0 D) o$ J• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
7 F3 I! h2 x4 p• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
0 e% v0 E- g Y; \• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting, h) B$ ~* V- e7 o

Accounts Receivable:
. n% x! A3 l: i9 W9 M4 M8 R• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
/ M! [$ O$ Z2 y1 o• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
! B+ j% \8 O& L6 ?% X9 O o• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments( |6 ^$ ~: P9 R3 v9 t4 B* s
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing3 d+ F) ]# d" x, s. r- C
( A7 _% Q$ {9 f+ x) DQualifications:- ?) ]; P, Y3 c1 e' L. f P

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
' |$ v) w) h0 k9 L; n• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association- x' b v+ b' L4 ]
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
0 | K; K2 s" |$ S) T• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
1 g& q4 x3 H/ j• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
8 S: x* J2 h2 X( J• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
: X: x* e7 h3 y* P2 H! J# n• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
