YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.
8 o9 g% D% }/ i- u9 IJob Responsibilities:

Payroll:
* ]# f, p8 F, q• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
0 U$ V% w# N, X/ @• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll, O# c$ V6 z5 B p
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 9 E: Q$ e, S$ a F
• Input benefit deductions into payroll
' b/ A; b4 q9 b% f5 @4 O) ~6 c( C+ E7 R* M/ c
Reporting duties:
5 O7 l" {, N& s9 I+ ?• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
- X8 B' u, Z# h U. S# X• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
4 I# A9 Z0 N& c' A( z, j9 v) l• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s- V& O& B% U, R5 _& _+ i
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority; ~. \6 q6 r7 {7 \3 i
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

Compliance:, ]4 Q! O' S2 s. L
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
4 G6 [' X% Y7 j• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
; g4 \+ ^8 n v) Z• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies5 [, I% E% J* E1 g, p
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:9 X$ ^1 X0 f9 z, r; S# r5 _; F2 C1 w3 Y
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit$ c. k% N, o, X* A0 H; R! ]: X
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
. m i1 \$ Q2 h, j• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments6 ]" I7 D6 H# b: Q1 ?
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:
! Q) ~. ?# {* R% K8 [# n1 C0 g: i6 L) Z
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP6 M; s" _2 \0 q3 c3 U2 ?
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association& z0 x. F2 i, n, Q7 f, L
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
2 Z# n7 R7 _5 J/ a' H- d$ ?• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office

• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure# m/ h5 M7 U' W4 L; z1 K! {
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
