YOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
1 }! [! Z% C9 s+ l6 E8 SAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
, |7 |$ e3 p/ \) c1 M' |# knine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
3 k6 m7 M. l  Mpeacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
, P0 V4 L! P" @' B: k% ?) x3 uThe YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded

9 S+ M* R; X$ u8 z9 q/ t: B+ V; Aproject that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
employability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
7 V% E- Q' u$ M) m' D5 V' sThe goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
  m0 M! M/ b7 z  nthe skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
9 n; l1 ~- d6 x- x/ h; Y: `personal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
8 B4 F8 O8 H+ b# r3 yAdditionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
4 b8 L  r8 D8 y+ a, jand leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
follow-up once the program is completed.

% B6 ~" W" a# nYOUCAN office, located at 11124-130 St. (Westmount Jr. High School) in Edmonton, Alberta.
