In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.# H. c' x @: X* t& q% h }! o y8 `

; M: d' e" {) X$ C2 ^+ ?7 g; KSEDI is staffed to:
% f) U5 e r) G0 D$ {! T' ^• conduct socio-economic market and policy research : \+ Y' F# N# r, p
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners % B" z/ h5 C, R2 I7 h o' t
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation ; B" X- |7 F s% v: T% Q
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
% l) c7 z' p0 V• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits ( N6 l! ?9 a. ]7 k8 [% k9 \3 ^
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 6 ?8 X, c( v+ z* f* J2 d% |& ~

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: / { S5 F4 u% e3 `: ]9 B
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
4 d- n2 u' d3 Y& S• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) % z# @- a! B$ g
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required $ T: {, \2 v( U- k4 M: ?) Y9 d: g4 g2 u
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
, }( ~% }+ E; ^• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
. A" R! t# ~+ p3 F P; z% V1 q• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

# M9 U8 S1 c i4 ?• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies $ n2 ~) g, Y+ r# `
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
1 g' o' t- p' s* s" f• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 1 T5 k8 R* P, R4 r' ^" i
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 7 L1 R2 i+ e; h) R4 Y8 k* N" e
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning + T5 D d8 Y" x3 a
Primary Qualifications: , t3 H5 l& m7 O+ w$ t1 F/ b
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
; r; }" i! t1 O: ~; J% ^' c• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media " C [3 N+ e& Q$ q8 m5 j- \; P
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 6 N* j6 j, k( R0 r' h
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
" N5 S b5 X) ^9 D• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
9 G: I# K$ m9 i• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 7 l- N7 D: m, T& n. ?
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc - j6 F+ Q& i9 A/ t
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education 7 R3 y5 B6 v. h9 t" o1 h# P, I6 B P
• Content / curriculum development experience
) \, _4 A, B1 `4 F! P3 k: i3 W5 [5 `6 V6 v• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
) T' M( M' I4 h• Excellent organizational skills

• Policy research skill set is an asset
