SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. 2 s1 J5 ?6 v3 a
SEDI is staffed to:
. u7 J: `* X; E9 [; q• conduct socio-economic market and policy research # J6 U& U z% B9 U( D+ ?
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners , w" b9 e& s2 h1 L
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
* v @' s' E; o9 Q" _# Q! |• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
5 |4 c) M: x' X Y" ?' t' o. K- |! s• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 3 x2 h5 e& U2 M
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

' x+ c' R% q: a5 M: j! x7 _Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
; d' M$ q+ S7 K, R. W• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 9 v2 n& s- D& W$ _( O
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
3 o" y# @2 y: [+ ] C• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 7 R& v+ P5 i, @( G4 ~1 j
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
. @: {3 I4 t9 Q! a• Working with evaluation and management information systems team : A: q1 H: {2 w* N% N2 T& q
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required " s- A, e% V! w y- \
Other Activities:" s1 Y7 Z& w5 j( Y+ p3 I3 I+ E
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
) e( O) x" Q0 L& G• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners : W8 N/ F( g- ?" T9 K3 l4 E, Y
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
]7 g7 X7 {& }) E6 }• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
1 ~, j% `% J1 G7 c; H0 g8 S• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning & O/ e) d' k0 q7 E5 D& d2 @. B. o
Primary Qualifications:
4 C. b- u& E( Y- o• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
- t" A2 D% e; _# a. W3 u• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media * o8 _ R/ h2 Z& n' ]" ?
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
! _; L1 Y5 x1 H• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
; s) y; |6 P7 \) G9 y• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams ! u4 A5 `$ c; ^! G3 @" ?
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 9 f ^( Y4 {5 D$ r6 [
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
) B N2 {; D- o8 `+ H6 `4 J# u+ p+ A• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
# ?5 o/ c8 W _. Z- u9 `• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ; l( x w! y! F/ ~
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
0 c- i# }% R2 b• Content / curriculum development experience 5 R: s& w: K0 p, R4 H
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ) R8 M" z& I$ F8 ~* ]: F
• Excellent organizational skills - e& |8 G/ ^2 F, A5 d( t
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 8 }7 [( m t- E+ X
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
( r: D2 Q% N/ R6 S5 ]• Policy research skill set is an asset * s8 D$ J/ W7 E0 M& Z, c
• Marketing and communication experience an asset 8 S1 H, }$ f3 I, E
• Program evaluation experience an asset

Work Term:
