In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.' p/ g. a4 @# q4 ]; T& y9 N) u) `

* V- Q: ^$ P$ W0 P6 B1 rSEDI is staffed to:
% I9 r5 E$ a: D• conduct socio-economic market and policy research + t/ Z+ z% T/ ^4 Z' V
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
# [: z" d9 D( B! P8 ]4 I• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation 4 f' A7 R3 |; o% k! \
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs + }8 J! i. p" @% Q$ q: T- R2 X
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
! X' w; \% O! g; a% P• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses : V4 D" K( d; z( Z# { S
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
2 h a' X& k4 D/ mPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
, x3 {4 C% L6 {: b! K3 v• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ; l+ l" I5 c' Q8 ]* S7 q1 F
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ' O! T( P* [$ z
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required y) C% O$ w$ S- _7 i; V3 f$ K
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities F+ T0 j8 [( K
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
M0 {! R$ N0 c3 C" p% F• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 4 p. A5 L2 ?5 s3 J
Other Activities:
; L" a! l/ m3 N0 ]. o• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ' n8 Q1 V$ g& I1 H2 j7 K6 }; o
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 6 O1 u7 P5 J8 S4 N6 A5 P% G' m& s
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 6 v6 } ]2 F j* k
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
' k) c' N& {6 a+ K' U3 \! G) m• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
( P U! V( }5 o) j• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
' ~9 F( }' Q9 b• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 3 b, m) n/ Q2 p5 u
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
+ @& O3 J1 O8 R5 ~+ ~2 n/ f1 A# \• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
( p" w' B! s) E0 Q# o- w• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
7 D0 L8 M$ @$ R, F7 b• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts 5 \: ~' @% f* m$ X4 o: k
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
6 Z3 w( a# ~4 _( Y0 [) q: z• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc " l: \$ X- h& j
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
' O) s: G. i# o0 h3 Z• Content / curriculum development experience
0 S: a5 u$ h3 h' ~- a- d3 w. P6 \• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. + g# v* e9 n: c# ^
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
