In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.& B$ D6 w7 a' P# C! G0 W

2 N: u( E, Y+ @& _+ d& cSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ( F. B- t7 B* ~/ A3 j5 W
SEDI is staffed to: 4 A0 l2 q+ e& o* \3 X
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
; @) \3 s: G0 ?* \) E: M4 T& `• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners * B/ x0 y1 e+ B. \8 y5 y; ]0 F
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
! ?4 s; B8 B# ]9 [& [• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
5 b9 V: V6 c& B# F5 g1 c1 P• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits * d( n2 D5 N5 \, N% ^; |6 N) q
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada ' ], w w5 }' C& s: s2 c2 i
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ) _# y2 |* _( f. Z* o/ T4 Y
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required # B2 P7 D3 R& \, O3 P2 \$ s8 Y
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
! y) [- e" k+ e- D" i! v5 a6 q• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 2 c+ j+ {% R$ b8 E! X
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 4 f& H7 C" k5 I9 N4 v5 H
Other Activities:
8 D9 z; d" G! u! {$ B& y2 P# e• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 8 E: p, V& m+ b0 _5 q9 `
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
' W2 a2 l# }: y( c: }0 h% z! x( E• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting " l$ Z! Y ]' F
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 8 m' \! {& E% j8 b# l0 I
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience ; ?/ {- y" F9 [# K# N
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
8 t9 W+ m6 Z4 h2 m- v; S2 U$ S% {# J• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
9 s. p+ o& g7 {# v• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 2 E1 M6 g- ]" V
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ) B4 p6 ^1 I, I4 c( _
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
