The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.3 v" |" ^7 u5 S, ]

Key Responsibilities
, j' _- [$ K8 a# iThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
, W1 _* G' G% p* T d1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
: l( k, ]9 k+ I) ^$ d; X• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers
- V+ l M- E9 T. O( R• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests) Q* p) H1 l* [3 ~8 T
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current' l6 `# c3 B2 P5 L) v" v* U( `( O
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs
+ l5 i8 f$ D( W5 n8 A. P• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees

2. Policy and Procedure
+ V: w+ \( B f• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval1 H1 ^1 X6 ?* }# Y) O8 Y5 J0 i R: L4 {3 z
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions7 o8 J; ]7 c9 \& r e1 H- d; N6 t
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance- V: Z. R3 g* P

3. Performance Management Support
; [3 D5 I& T/ V4 _; y0 I3 u& A! v• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
. d, |3 N8 ^# p( U5 j• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
; d. l0 S- b+ n: a' R0 A• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
( S ?) V! o6 O. G/ p4 \2 q• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations

4. Human Resource Information Gathering
3 a1 r& ]+ F/ E. ]; H" }• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals
7 Z- s$ d. K" A* ]• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

6 c3 t+ F) V; ~% K4 f" t8 p6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification

• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required

7. Payroll and Benefits
0 U$ [0 r( v" C+ Q• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
% S. b/ ?7 {: @" Y: a; i& K5 N. u• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers
7 o7 N6 |% C" D% m& y: w4 |) \• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs

Health and Safety

Qualifications & Expertise
# a% W9 D1 v# G4 O0 G; x$ W Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)5 E5 Z: p4 O* d! M1 [1 s
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
/ \ [: ^: O/ P A CHRP designation is an asset9 M! L/ e- q1 i* S) I4 f
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset
' L/ B9 D' f: |) J# D Experience managing change is preferred
1 V% S- u/ |: b3 m, s; { Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
