Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer: G$ k  i. [. `7 A! }
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.
1 \( n- k7 d, y' T& @- \ Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.
( d. O, l; R, L Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.: F( ?/ o  J; l3 H/ p& V. u
 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.
% s8 O) J6 o: S) k! a Maintain all resources in the Resource Room insuring that they are current and relevant.
% m% n/ p  E& o Update and maintain job boards.
* l4 w; O; i# m2 P0 L3 t8 C; u; D2 Y8 H Be required to work flexible hours, with some evening and occasional weekend work

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.

 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
# S" M# n" ~; ^: L5 i Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
1 L2 W- |2 f- n Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.
( F* H9 c! Z- Y4 I1 | Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.6 O, k  J% t  ~
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.$ G' |2 T) Y3 p! d
 Keep up-to-date all other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Co-ordinator.

 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
. z0 B* f8 T* G Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.6 l: y5 i' q, C9 @) S5 b
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.
# q3 o( k4 z2 T( O6 l1 Y4 }5 S! M Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.
1 U: N8 o) j3 H- w4 T' F4 i! G" I( N Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan3 A7 `: ~" z# G, |! s: e
 Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
$ A) f) G- s9 g Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
+ o. M' D& @5 v- s4 r# P Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants+ |5 n9 k( K( R! M8 a3 N) M+ n$ R
 Complete participant reviews with the participants4 b! ~% N1 |1 f" f8 r) F
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion3 W# [+ ^& |. f! K3 n# R0 C
