 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.

Settlement Counsellor

 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.( V$ q5 c; n* ~
 Promote Bredin Institute’s mission, vision, values and strategic objectives.

 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.) p; v. H4 `. F7 S5 R! i
 Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.

 Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
) i" a0 G7 D, @ Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment
" H% t. n+ }  p) Z, d* \ Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
4 P  h6 Q' w. _! q9 Z  t2 i Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants

 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion3 d/ n! w  W: |& z5 a  r1 V
 Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
