 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
  X: }% o1 N" W4 Z) h# d: T: g Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
3 p/ m* g# x' Y4 ~. x7 I0 |! s Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
: x- P9 g8 M/ r% `, ?1 N0 D Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
9 m" e0 C8 |/ k0 y8 n Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

( `3 T3 j. I. O, t, B% v. g Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
6 Q& Q% i6 |) U5 H Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
8 v" H  S4 k# i6 l, B Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
% Y8 @/ D" Z. D# h2 i' J- @0 ?4 F Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
" p- R8 Q/ |9 C& l4 ] Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
" d& u  W+ a( h8 v9 h# o! { Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
