 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
) J; c' ?2 l* `4 n) H0 ` Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
- t- z2 m2 t+ @7 [  R- c) ~# S, m+ \ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
7 T' r4 G! Y& A. Z) J4 F; n Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
* q" O1 w4 Y- `# k0 e1 @4 m Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
& O6 v0 N# ]8 t% Z/ J Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
' G; {8 g+ n# e& V; _ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
! x5 P' S. D# @0 x4 v1 \4 ~ Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
5 A8 B& D) N' u- l Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
+ @5 P# R# i; ]" h Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

EMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
