Responsibilities
: a* ]  O1 G- X+ k# q9 D8 ^8 [ Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
, J5 c8 R6 Y. r8 D- J; H- q" q Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
, k" v, H) h8 E) c2 d Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
 Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
  Z" ]; r# x8 J% g2 G8 w Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
. q1 V& F$ S" Y. s) W- s; V" q/ o Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
1 J! i- ?- f; `$ \- p Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
: n7 s* I: d8 }& R+ j Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
7 T! m- P7 C3 }6 h% P  b( |2 Y Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
4 h9 C% a, i& H* \# `* ` Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
