Delivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
; z9 S/ i& `4 g: e" TObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments# o; y5 h. j" I: A" c2 }2 B
Ensures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound9 q, R3 v1 W8 w5 q
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead1 Z3 U3 k) R" J6 y5 Z& m9 I/ A
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions
9 ^. P- O( g" M* JPerforms related duties as required% ]) y, d; \# Y$ P$ A5 h5 P
Qualifications
/ Q% s* l6 |; y4 sValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
# Y; M! v) q1 _' E9 iHigh School diploma; previous driving experience required9 G- }6 F" ]/ ^: K( x
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification: C6 Y5 d% H G8 ?' y. u
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
