Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  N( K0 h5 G3 a4 X, f Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
# S4 _$ r# \- z) L/ L1 L Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
8 h3 f) N2 L  w% @8 t: J Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
+ D3 B1 u5 s* Q7 j- J/ n Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
2 p5 h+ H; @% u) o; o7 O9 |" D; k Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
/ p9 _; {$ Y* d) |) J# i Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
$ S" Z0 c9 w. z- T# u Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
& T: M+ M% k9 c" I# r+ z2 U" l Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
% C7 l* C# z. Y Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
: y  u! `; [) n1 j4 ^. F2 G Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
, C2 w4 z0 u" K) r9 \7 X2 s Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

; l$ P( H# C: I4 Y! ~/ cThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
% E- j" C( J8 nThere is a 3-month probationary period.
