Key Responsibilities & Duties:

* H) l2 D# `3 C8 N( W Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth. M, w) A- m3 _. X! |
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.+ J ]) l. Y! z) E
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.3 Y( D) d" F- |6 @, x4 z
 Completing required paperwork.
/ c% J; i& C5 @& y Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.2 I. ^1 t8 I, {1 }8 y( @
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.7 I7 S" B1 D: L, N4 h
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

Qualifications:

3 t; l' Q/ I) { Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.' }4 j6 _+ ^, ?. A; U
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
) C2 U1 Y/ ~3 Q# P% B& H Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
2 s8 B; g: [0 r1 V* _! E: T Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc., x: d7 d; f$ x- \" w1 k, C% k. }
 Knowledge of community resources.- m3 f+ S: e& s! E5 e6 J4 o
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.2 |! ?+ H" D/ `+ q" H; A$ S" U: @ X
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
( y9 d" X5 c* c/ b% }+ XThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; ) W* h# X- ]# v7 h
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
