Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
' g7 n1 R. c) d Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 d7 P. ~/ A/ e Completing required paperwork.
$ M! }* b! H% w; Q Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
1 ?. T1 G" X7 P0 f8 Y: m Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

+ ~  N& W- @1 g8 ^9 d
+ D3 E! v% W+ @. e( E8 c- ` Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
9 R% C2 S2 [: T$ a Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
7 x; A- y) K* o; r  y4 V Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
3 {; |4 y5 h, q6 d; BThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
  w% }+ }: R! @" G5 e0 l2 Jstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
