New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
! V1 N# E) d7 S" |2 ?# Q
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
2 V3 r9 ]* x  @( A6 R Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
; I) w, e* M* l( E& u Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
2 Q, \$ J2 p# H. o  y) ~( P* J5 @ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
6 k8 l* ~+ ]0 o2 u  M4 D1 f/ y( \ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
4 F" T8 n% q7 _: Z: \1 x Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

- ?; T1 ]' v) S8 @# F) l/ P0 H Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
  R. [& S/ E/ z0 h Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ J  i. o) D1 g, _ Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
0 C7 x3 a/ F- z- t/ f9 u7 t) I5 Q- E Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
$ P1 x/ `1 ~2 g' O% b& K: |6 rThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
( R4 e7 m- [: dstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
