Key Responsibilities & Duties:
3 ^+ P, u9 i2 c( R- E0 o( g
' `3 N* {  Z1 W% B, |' ] Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( M! w3 L/ L: F2 M Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
5 q4 L9 e" w7 ~) q; W2 J: N Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
+ D; L* F/ i$ q2 n; N! V Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
/ q- y$ x3 z$ o( \5 [ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
! B% v. U+ r& o/ h% e Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:
0 ?) s! Y  \+ D0 ?$ E5 ?. o5 R
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
( d; i" r1 b, _% x0 A$ H5 h; ? Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
/ b+ N% N( ]1 z  J Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
+ f0 v6 }- b, b$ ^ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
) ]4 P; u  R& U5 l; {+ M: d
Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
