Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; O2 d/ W; y1 B$ R0 w Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
  f5 b" @$ M6 r: h Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
7 f/ U/ f! P* F Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

: Z! J4 N- K3 `3 e+ ]7 [# R9 Y Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
$ r+ g' b0 R$ P! X Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
# H9 U4 k( ?9 ?9 |- f! | Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
$ B; b5 N# F# K6 ]) r1 g- d& o Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
2 r  ^# ]4 T* N6 B) R7 y" P Knowledge of community resources.
& ~4 U# @- R7 |3 p8 a8 Z+ { Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.
! b  L! F# j9 ~- W! ~9 g5 z8 I# W
) R) T, }& @0 I; EPosition:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
