The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.' t7 h, v1 k; v4 k

OPERATIONS
! h( ]/ ~6 C% [! _• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.: F6 P, o9 L4 B5 d1 q) X2 F. o
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
6 B! N/ e! h$ v# ^• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge- k! U% A8 u* r9 v( w
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.; M4 L1 b5 n7 ?5 e$ N! D3 U
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
4 ~& k6 `& f+ ]5 l/ j• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
- J& g4 c5 o7 }9 W# { k$ G8 F/ S• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
' U, t2 z: i( Q0 @6 `0 L% Z• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
! g, L6 `& s! }0 L; B' O* n9 s/ p• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
) z1 x$ T$ f# l9 N$ V( w; M- ]• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO& c( y* s8 U! ~: j; z; q
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up7 u# v1 E: }: s4 S
( C) f$ V% @8 ]5 b5 B& ~ADMINISTRATION' t1 P* P- I2 M" l1 I7 R
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
! R E9 R7 c8 m0 N8 X, g• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
* x2 o# s" i4 Y! g8 }% q) H$ N T• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate1 q1 p3 I6 y/ z4 N$ T5 K- D
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& g" b K6 L) u2 ~& ~, q
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
( A, w6 l8 j, m% c: r$ e• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

% I. X+ b9 x2 R2 I. Q' H• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

, Y* w2 S/ [5 d2 E$ \' VINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS+ S: {1 M# H+ `" Y
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers" u5 l3 K9 h3 K0 f+ d
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)( C9 G# R( }; N+ x. }
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 8 L) t' N& u$ S) r: B; Y: S; ]* p; p& P
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required5 M1 Z6 V2 [* z2 J0 Z4 _8 {4 H5 k

) X6 e8 T0 ], f4 @9 W X. [% a• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination0 a& b3 L% R9 O; b2 Z4 y' z
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
8 k4 @! J5 A9 B, E. s/ Q5 f' G• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
6 w( B$ b7 p, c# p: f l& R/ \4 H• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills * M. Q/ v- K) y! ~" _' v
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
( ~7 R& | M4 A• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects

• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
