The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

* `( j6 g( c7 b2 M. m• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
# q1 o0 N1 W- ^- m; Q3 C! L# x• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.( f' H# `" r7 p! B: I
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
/ ^ A3 Q# F; `1 K' _- H6 u• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills./ w3 J) I a" l/ c, O2 e/ @" }5 X7 c! d* R
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
. U8 j* y, L( P3 ]• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
@0 i3 f4 R" U- _( p• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
5 P V' b$ \0 B! m7 E• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
. N' _: i' P# W, {/ D1 R, r• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
4 e+ F, V9 c: K/ w5 [3 Q2 u7 P• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate1 `* s) k O/ @+ {. P* L- n" N7 o) d
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department* x* Z% d7 l* I3 e' m: D, W% y
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required . {3 L* j, l3 t% z4 Y6 s. l) j
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency% ]1 I2 E4 s5 P2 ?9 U3 f# T0 w
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
0 ~. v2 S4 c8 ~4 j! q' M9 T• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
. s2 J5 R' |0 z/ s• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
. r, \+ L8 O, j• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers5 h6 h) g/ F. _( r* [9 p4 g3 L
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)0 x2 w3 c+ t% g6 U7 ^, i
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
; H. J" d6 \% k5 C' R3 T. h• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required* l6 S5 _7 g( w! h, G+ j

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
: i5 I4 s6 V, c• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

2 J9 R4 f5 c. Z3 i G• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
