The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA., a9 n" L. d8 L2 {( w, r& @

Job Responsibilities:

: K4 Z4 u' G' F" }* J1 _• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.% E/ x0 N' W( \5 ]; F
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services. Z- ^" `' F% @3 }2 s. t* w) Y
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
* d$ k6 `+ r4 {$ Q" e: }" i• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
; M) P; y7 Y) y9 D6 ]0 x• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.* n* t+ ~1 k1 x* ]9 z( Q7 w
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.( n* y7 k/ R9 l* x) A$ G7 t
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development." ]# X) o4 X1 O: i. @
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities8 a1 [6 b' p V. {) j6 }8 P
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required8 _8 L0 X# S9 K3 e- k

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO6 c* l/ p+ {0 }9 l( a/ m
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up" Q/ `) p2 q" L( V+ _. \

ADMINISTRATION( R. Q/ a' f' ?3 i/ `& E
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position: s: `* T6 y& |* d$ i
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation. K- b0 F# O' p6 N7 _
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
6 f: X8 V7 s; ?' `. C1 a• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
/ _- r9 Y5 e- o. R. C• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ' Y& O# b: ]- o; a0 Z: A5 m
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances) N3 X" s4 e2 ~, a, F
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required. e1 L& n* b5 f
6 S, N: m# g7 b( s$ AINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS& }, P, v _; l3 X0 J; V; n3 s$ y [
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
$ h& S0 Z" ^- W9 U• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
* t7 C2 F. M* R+ U• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate : a2 Q( |$ |- K9 K
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
5 E2 f [0 F* }8 J+ {. e/ _* Q. H. p% Y& P3 [" l
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
) q! x4 K* w3 _4 \: A2 Q• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 |& a& \" Y/ T1 V5 j+ i- l' [
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
% |9 \4 E0 B: L" P7 Q" i9 F• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills $ v/ C. R; O! i L
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
9 C' B3 _) \! x6 A• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
: @! G/ F' T( E7 ~6 ?1 l• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
) e- b+ V& c# b! ^1 i• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial 1 B- \, j. y2 l
