The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA. ?8 b4 I+ K" _4 `" \" ~" X

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS( `3 ?( G+ D0 `/ Y+ ^/ B" k% l
• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events. z& G5 Q& u& |$ _
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services./ Y! m& k, b- P7 y
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
9 L( \# F. r& f0 U• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
/ |0 E1 G' d9 @6 L: t• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
& q6 W) V* m4 T5 j2 J+ [• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
% k5 M! a" I& B8 i• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
9 E( W- z' k. O: Q6 `• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities9 N# P' Q" L1 L+ i# J7 M. T% s0 r
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required7 d, u9 @, n: m

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING + p; S1 ?+ p W5 @( I7 F0 w
• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO& N. B" e# D, j% Y& e
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

% d$ g8 s6 l" @* tADMINISTRATION6 \- p/ Z3 R$ y$ G' {
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
9 {! K8 j, q( I• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation$ M6 v( }) F# p& ^% W h5 _6 `' B
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate8 @. G; g9 {$ y- C( L3 ^
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
% F* N- j V+ ]" g' S• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
% Y& u2 K1 z/ Q• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
" ?! r4 R8 l4 V4 F4 A4 c& E• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
, Q; H1 q2 h6 q• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
$ r1 j5 o5 o" W3 t• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
4 ^; {) T9 g8 D. o/ }( F• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
: x( z# j% |8 V: B• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers% x" }7 O8 y9 \, B7 g7 ? V
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)7 U" O* ^7 D {- Q( y" k, _; ^
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
: w# k; e4 Z9 A- o; w• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required' S8 V3 b. u; k8 Q
, b* Y/ d0 ?+ M; XQualifications:5 k8 {0 s6 x% [; _3 y: \
9 [; ?3 A4 K8 n- R/ c. M5 ` o• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
& W* U" L* o A3 V• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
/ Z9 [. X: L: z+ A• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
' ^6 Y0 B4 i4 ^+ }' z• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills $ l0 L& U/ ]* v2 c5 q1 E! J0 }. i
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
& z$ w) K: k8 ~! @' Y8 f• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
; I; y1 C% H+ w2 e6 a `% \1 ]• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality) D8 x5 j! W4 ~
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
