The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

OPERATIONS
3 D Y6 D+ s* ^9 _- T- m• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
6 Z2 @+ }, F5 r9 R$ O& a• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.6 V% b1 h+ L, I
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge e$ g j8 H2 E5 I
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.( g/ r4 S; @" l$ R
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.' R. R3 q' J; o! u5 y4 H2 Z
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.5 P& w) L& f$ w/ q6 }$ \% q) b
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.* s4 m+ e( h- g& h# ?: u
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities+ c) @$ p8 n" o0 C/ U, C
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required. _1 O$ a. c I& {) d

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
9 Y0 P, `. T+ P+ a% f9 S6 { m& o- e* B• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
2 F' U+ v! i5 l4 u7 r• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
7 q: o) Q1 B: V$ v) \2 a H• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation; ^" R4 n4 a( S+ @; G
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
/ b/ Z; L$ g+ U c! O$ J• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department( f% t2 X' X! Z# U6 Q
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
5 A- k2 w4 J0 b• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency6 V. l* |- F, f
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report+ C1 E# Q; i$ Q- p

FINANCE
( C4 \5 u+ L8 Z4 [0 Q9 z• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
( O4 j. c4 _# m• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 y; r: A$ l9 D- K
8 N- L; _2 `( LINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS9 ^# a( [, ?( Y a, O/ ^. y
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
: G( g. T$ h# T! |• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)* x" M. G& d" B1 d5 o
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate % w0 E D- O4 B
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required' j6 h. F1 x9 y

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination1 w+ Z6 C4 g' s9 F: Q
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability3 w3 n$ @; I$ x2 |% s1 H3 I$ D# ?
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
0 q2 N; ], K/ p4 f5 v• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills ( F% q. M7 W; q7 Q- k) n
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
5 U; d8 W) f' k+ s" C9 w* ]) Y• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
" Y. q0 i& _) h* ?: @• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
