The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.- G  d$ Q0 ^; G9 K! U# O9 e

OPERATIONS% x. w: G) }: T: q
•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.0 g" _7 U6 H6 B9 K# Y6 S' m
•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.- W2 L$ h9 X9 s: g* c( P0 m
•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge1 }4 E% A& A5 a! ~; U  |1 q, j
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.$ E+ h3 q, P% \* Z
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.+ l4 }; L2 w# N% w/ ]. ]1 Q& L; L
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
5 D. w' }9 c! E; N; c2 P) c•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
% r$ \4 ]8 W% y3 B•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
& C8 g. ~7 e% s" ]•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required9 g* D, L5 E- k& w. v

" v, j8 s0 t6 S% `' c•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
" Z, \/ P2 ~; C# @•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION2 J* c6 L$ u. u: b( r: a+ [: [
•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position& l5 k/ A9 t* w
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation4 G6 x! X3 u" @# S6 U# B( w! q
•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
: ]3 g7 P5 t5 r' b4 n) c•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
" I* i1 B2 p* g9 a& d( x- \/ M•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 5 T& N" ], f+ e% i" l1 R  p  w
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
4 O$ p$ m1 A! C) V8 C3 G•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
" E3 f, ]. d8 N•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
* k, M; v( k! U9 c' p% t. X•        Prepare a regular monthly program report

2 A3 y/ [8 U3 yFINANCE9 s: r; h7 P9 m" X: _
•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
; f0 h8 i1 |8 n6 n2 s; o; }2 t•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required, ^8 H: \- B& m4 w( f

# b! D; S2 ^2 I) G4 `INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS5 ^. Z4 i1 _. d% V3 [9 F
•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers2 W6 X( ?) ], t" i
•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
* W; g, D6 t& N•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
$ i$ e' u9 O* O•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
, V$ O; n( }* l; ]8 ]8 x( g* L+ H4 Y  r! p$ b" w& R8 V* a' w
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. L9 A0 P1 v, Q3 G( C1 I2 y
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability5 e% d1 s( j6 o& Y! X  X. z
•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
5 o+ W2 Q: _3 L+ Y9 l& w( g4 E•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills & a6 c* [; A) G% Z* C. L* A
•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
1 J0 M7 ]- ~& \9 [- q•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects & C$ V0 a/ f& J
•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
/ F* x2 a2 Y) k: }5 W+ e) ~1 i•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial / c0 }+ J# U+ O
