The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

OPERATIONS
6 M+ F; ^8 U% u* O0 R( u- a• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
& v' d% w0 U! P+ X' p• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
' u: m# r$ l+ T$ r( ?# Z7 S• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
, O6 e, Q' }+ m• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.: j8 H3 S( Y$ V2 I" ]
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
9 p% T; O; @. W R. H# h$ U( S3 x• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
# ~& o5 g) K7 R: v• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
5 e& t- L( F# J' h• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
" F! B5 G" L. f" ^! y/ t* V• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO+ V4 c' O8 k! E0 e" W9 D, A
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION/ @. l* A+ n j s1 ~" [
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
' }' G: I+ E" T( s% s• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation3 H1 ]# }8 M: F# r7 ^ J! l
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
$ o7 d6 | ^3 L" d( D% Y• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department9 c( }# L, h2 N; B9 e* u& k
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required & ]0 H7 o: g7 |6 r' p; @
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency! V$ N3 @7 R5 z7 i8 p. O0 ]
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
% I0 A2 X! \3 q4 L& A1 n• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required2 @# X! }& o/ C0 `4 r0 U) B5 [

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS/ {; d/ U; R X: }4 T5 g9 m
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers7 l2 {: d& P# k1 B- X6 q/ _* @
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)2 q1 C, ~4 T4 K6 v1 |% X8 {% E3 h1 G
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 6 f6 j4 N5 [* s
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required6 w$ e6 F5 Q6 N: K$ J( x3 |

Qualifications:

9 F v o4 d- J• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" W. G& D, L* ?' }! k
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
& E) [6 \% h5 _: e• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills% [0 ^2 U. i$ N" N( T
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
0 b6 W5 R! H. Q1 G# ~" Y0 m• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure! G; ?' q( W/ B9 U3 @( S
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects % Z4 R8 \/ Q, n: J" n) Y; ^% b
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality( U, ]! T7 \- j( @. Q+ P
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
