Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
$ N% o2 |; x2 E: b; \) N Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
5 v# a) L6 T0 L. S Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
6 E5 F3 E+ `8 a. V2 ^9 g Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
5 k7 u: A. I$ Q# @ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
. E. @2 M# S* W0 p' ?+ {% d Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
# t; T; I. _  {' ]9 B# n6 B
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
1 Y' I4 a1 C2 e: ?  n: H, ~ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

( T/ `1 R4 W# h: P6 c2 F  RThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
