Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* u7 |* v' U5 t& @6 x7 v% L
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
9 a/ Z  _( V; F# u Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- W) q/ j& X4 v7 g Completing required paperwork.
& n1 K& U- k6 F5 O Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
9 i; `  r& O5 I0 ?/ G3 l Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
3 W! }8 e" r, z Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
3 Q+ E5 P" c  h; C Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

; R$ D% ~/ L+ _  ~7 f Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
8 N3 H! S8 l. t$ a: v. N0 b9 b( ^ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
1 N/ d- U, I/ n' b; n* K Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
