Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
4 b; A. ]! Y9 p" F8 _ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
# r" }# q8 E& r. M) ? Completing required paperwork.
: ^; g& ~: D! j* u: B8 o Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
  L2 m/ K9 Z4 _6 B$ | Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
  M+ G# U: C5 A2 C
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
/ W! w5 z  ]! f; @0 s1 X Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- u7 E9 `* Q; Y+ h' J2 u9 T% P2 v Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
0 s8 z; I! y* ~) x1 k& h" B Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
