New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:

4 m8 @' m& f9 F6 E1 D9 s Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
' u  N, y6 l* ]  ^$ q$ T Completing required paperwork.
" N% K  m, G+ e4 B; Z( c% U Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
7 T& O4 C4 I$ p6 y" |  w+ G$ g: S Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
. U/ D6 n9 i2 [8 _2 O Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
* F' k3 y. ?3 `0 x) s+ I$ j4 J Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
7 b' i, {& i5 Q* I4 s" w* h Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.


Qualifications:

, e; _, N7 g* y5 G( c' h1 d Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 d1 l* v* @. Z" L( D Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.

* x# K; b) q6 }& H9 o Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
! o4 K2 q+ `8 s, p: u& c4 ~ Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
% j4 y  B0 x  Q: C& T/ KThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
5 O! D0 W% a- G% Y9 K+ ]+ hstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
