Key Responsibilities & Duties:

% a, G6 z3 M' m2 t; I! J8 r Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
/ C' Y, d* s* p( a5 l/ X# U8 K Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
0 b4 l9 r. S% Z2 }7 z Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.. Y/ f0 Q7 {7 m
 Completing required paperwork.2 n% w4 m2 G6 J0 X5 s& r* x
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.% d" N& l) ]7 x: U
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
) ]) |& Y: Q- ]; t- a& A) T Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

* @6 v! W% N" G# {3 ` Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.( l1 N; T' a! m; e! `) _
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
|5 {& ^' C. Q: v% L Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.( t! p' ?6 O. T0 s5 m
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.4 \3 e# p9 t+ j: k0 o
 Knowledge of community resources.2 n# j7 x7 S: L. }
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
' n( F) A+ z2 L8 I4 m Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
3 a% ]2 v3 ]0 w# ^+ @0 l) M6 aThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; , Q; U5 }8 A( n
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. ! L0 f2 M+ X7 _( F% Q. T% Q
