To keep themselves occupied while they waited, they'd spring for a couple of Jamin Puech's delectable little beaded purses, at about $1000 a pop.
Fashion in the '90s was generally a study in retrieval, revival and reworking rather than in innovation, to the point where designing seemed sometimes to be more about flea-market shopping than true inspiration.
