Position: Project Coordinator, Peace Ambassadors Program / Terms: Full-time / Start Date: August 15th 2010 / Location: Edmonton / Salary: $40,462 - $56,410 per year (full benefit and pension package) / Hours: 35 hours per week, some weekends & evenings / Closing Date: July 19, 2010.

Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.( ^4 p" R2 |1 K7 |6 r

Recruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

4 N; h5 [: v9 @5 t+ d% Z+ e& _' kTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

, }/ B- e$ [; t" Y G% n/ r( ^. ~" aOrganize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.5 U/ `& G0 H3 p! R
: e" w5 V% @3 m7 M0 v7 [2 m* R; DNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.) W6 j/ {, [2 U+ S4 X- S
8 R5 _- L E3 k/ fProfessional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.: R, {% u3 ]6 A
6 `% l% T7 U6 N& ^; q, hProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. . A3 x" r) r# n, B3 G; ~

Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model." h9 N* I& d! [8 q* P+ N: {- q
