I call this is JACK LAI Spiral Method 螺旋法
: M+ d3 g* x/ H! K8 ~6 L PThe outside circumference of the 3 inch pipe is more than 10 inches. See figure 2.
& i* a' W$ p/ P3 r$ N0 C5 OThere are 10 positions to plac the heat trace. They are 0.1,2,3,,,,,9. The distance between each position--heat trace is about one inch. . ^4 n" k0 p: a
Because the pipe is horizontal, position 0 can not be placed. See figure 2
2 S7 X" c7 z7 w$ T; F+ ]Because the maximum bend radius of the heat trace is 2 inches( see note 1), position 5 can not be placed. See figure 2. Then the route of the heat trace can be like figure 3

& c, d' ~/ s6 v' d# ]* r" y; N7 R1.4 * 6 + 1 * 2 = 8.6 + 2 =10.8 Meters
