FUNCTION:
As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

0 i: j4 n, w5 E• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
  D; f) ~9 L$ Y1 O6 D! N• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
- R( g5 s6 Z" s9 }5 j% ?6 v! {• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

. r6 n9 g5 N, O• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.

! F0 p8 W$ p3 C' |9 |4 R• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

8 S( o$ e) T! e2 I+ o/ }# KSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
& O3 H1 r, I8 G7 m' l# A• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
$ [0 D/ N) V2 d$ ?8 _4 J• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
* b) s4 z, i4 m) P- c- J• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
