As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

2 \: @# L  G+ P7 S8 X6 F• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
4 x7 K6 U2 n0 D9 `# O( E• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
4 u) h' y& l/ E2 L- n/ P/ q• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
8 e. P/ m7 H) S; K% @6 W2 n/ n• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
/ P* y8 c! N' C  t/ |5 H# }• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
+ K  S* H: E' M. p• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
7 E* w% f* j1 `1 w5 q• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
7 H9 p8 r: b9 K- X• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
3 a  D4 I! U$ V1 i2 [% z2 G4 @• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
# z. C+ G; o, \" B7 F0 G• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
9 \! k1 x* t" n  u. c1 F- c• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
; K# |5 i$ Z2 K( Q• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
/ ~$ ?3 {- k! T) h( G$ E6 q! e) l" }8 x• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
: S7 c% _# A. v• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
' }5 s% Q9 j) L4 I• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
