As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

( C4 O2 P8 I* h" q* ]DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
! J. `) ^# _7 O4 N6 i; y! n9 KEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
9 p* G0 g* p% u• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
( m! m" g- B: H8 _# t3 R• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
6 O& o$ [7 T5 g) b3 i" Z) |* V• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
* h1 y6 w7 N; ~; b+ j& q. v: J• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
0 A+ p/ o$ m9 q• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

7 b. i/ @$ B' C8 \SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
, }) w  F+ d6 J! l8 l" Q1 }$ c• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
* `; s5 ~2 D) U, }, w( g' [• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) `8 M+ A3 w: m• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
7 \7 e. C2 G8 C• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
1 D" I/ G2 Q$ t% s1 i• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
