; Q. z  d+ [" _% w, h4 C: b; |As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

Enterprise Data
, D4 S2 ~- a$ [. x• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
- b3 {& L) U3 c# }6 x/ v. X# i• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

2 y" O6 F2 V: k; Q% @: `& J0 s9 ?& H• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
4 i7 p9 }! R* h) J2 d$ P• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
, k. ]+ O! Z* ]• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
$ o( y- e; S; w- q4 a• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

; ^( w6 h2 J. B- K' h9 |SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
$ b0 k& ~# s; i- q• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
; J7 k8 l; W# y) P2 r9 k  \• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
% O* G- ^/ k" Q• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
2 m$ C3 `! E, p( i0 S• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
! R( I" a& v) z6 {, X0 B• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
: q+ W4 z' l$ |5 [, i! H0 B: j: |# w• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
' l8 R! p  R6 {8 `( H• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
