  H) W. b5 l: {& e7 H9 h& ?, hAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

/ T) a8 m( t, b3 t$ [9 W' QDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
& O; `, \& e& o7 `2 D' V5 A• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
( j) {. h2 Z. p# _  z• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
9 r& R: ]2 @6 I8 }( i9 i9 G• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
0 W0 ?$ [$ @' z7 X. G. e; I• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
/ G, |- X* M1 Z2 U• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
+ _/ J5 V& e# x• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

2 Q* t$ t, P# f( k4 d" ]- gSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
7 j  B" u- C2 A# y! e& H• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
( t# Q; l) q, J# @( O• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
2 x+ R9 B$ P  z• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.

• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
8 o! G* L1 ^7 d/ s! X• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
