0 ^3 u! v2 [3 G+ O1 VAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

" x1 c/ L0 v! b: hDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* ?9 ?1 l3 N; k3 _9 pEnterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
% q7 m1 H2 b( q: r• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
8 ?8 \2 g( l' Y( l• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
/ L3 P5 P9 \: V  F• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
+ Z- O7 Q2 X+ S! A  P! M• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
. j+ v; y; l- K% a6 e  q2 [7 G• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

* ?7 j/ p% ]4 A7 @! D# xSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
3 n7 X& t3 L1 H% Y. s  t3 y• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
) m5 b& V9 T6 P* V! d% O0 d7 ~• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
" h0 ]4 b9 j* s8 o; q• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
: j+ y2 x( u8 \- m# E5 \• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
' G% n7 O( A; p- R• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
0 \) B( Z6 l" G' d3 l- }) \  z/ {• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
0 D6 s- H: [5 ]( s3 U  {: J• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
