-        facilitate recruitment of participants for the Keshotu Leadership Academy
-        conduct interviews to ensure participants have necessary qualities
, C$ f) j7 L  e$ ^  K) _
0 V  b9 |: E' z1 G! x: \Organize Leadership Training Sessions
-        locate an appropriate venue for weekly meetings
-        set up a plan for the span of the project (Jan 08 – Dec 08) for weekly meetings
$ R" A/ ~' A5 H' B2 w% u-        use project proposal to ensure time is spent with all identified areas
/ {  S" V  l; E2 @
Plan and Facilitate identified public events
-        with youth participants

Media coverage
-        work with media consultant to ensure good coverage of project

Networking
-        attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate
5 ]# b, m9 q/ ~0 I2 W6 ?% f-        create and maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations

Professional Development
-        Be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.

Proposal Creation
; s* h' q/ {# I; @) s( e4 w' c* Y-        With program manager, create proposals to continue funding of this project.
-        Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators

Reports to Funders and Program Manager
-        submit quarterly reports to program manager and timely reports according to requirements of each funder

/ o& b( ]$ C# w- CProject Evaluation
1 @0 R! ]' Z" W# }-        work with external evaluation consultant to collect appropriate data for evaluation
-        include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model

Qualifications for this Position

-        excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society
-        demonstrated leadership abilities with youth
-        experience with project coordination
. O% d( E1 s* n-        degree or diploma in human services field
-        developed knowledge and skills in one or more performing arts
% E) w" h* E- D
