As the successful candidate for this position, you will administer and process payroll for Canadian employees in accordance with legislation requirements, various union agreements, HR policies and to ensure that all employees and various regulatory bodies are paid accurately and on time. The term of this position will be for up to 18 months. 2 v, F% F$ g( l" ]: F8 z
Responsibilities

Maintain SOx compliance with payroll processes, internal and external audit controls. % M$ T6 _( r: f D, C
8 M! I9 o+ W& j$ J, t$ H4 ZEnsure that all earnings, deductions and benefits are balanced each pay period. - u. t8 W. k7 P% F# G- a
# r& @' ?% r Y BEnsure that all time entry is reviewed and corrected as necessary, and provide support. ; H( Z/ W# c4 g, |
( H- a. u6 s7 a# a& U0 qEnsure that all applicable payments are paid accurately and on time and reported to accounting group. Z1 M: ]8 z( W, e; t/ @$ {

Ensure that all new hires, terminations, pay increases, transfers, and adjustments are completed and paid accordingly.

4 l% A) T7 L* `Prepare on-line and manual calculations for any payroll exceptions that can occur on a daily basis. 3 |0 [8 A4 P8 M; z: \; f1 ^- l
/ U m& ~' `' d$ N& s% CAssist with payroll issues (troubleshooting), year-end administration and special projects as required.

Qualifications
; V! V4 O6 s' ~. I; w Minimum 4 to 6 years progressive experience with a financial and payroll system. , ~+ k! z+ m) o) D

Knowledge of PeopleSoft time and labour a definite asset. ) v5 F6 ?/ }8 S

Must be flexible and able to work well under pressure of deadlines, changing priorities and last minute changes.

Working towards Payroll Certification.
