Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and * q) W* U+ v! Z% I
execution of the YWCA Strategy % D( ~) ~; c* c& h

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 L' k* V) V1 [$ o
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by , o1 u) H7 V; m: M
the Board of Directors; " R/ }, o, ^4 E; p7 A6 e
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
3 a/ z7 o' V! i* `$ D0 @. Zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 3 g0 u4 Q+ O5 m8 o; y7 V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 4 J; A8 K- q; E+ t8 W: g
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
- \" q3 m( ^- B+ @objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
" E* H/ m( ^7 r7 `5 S& a, [the board;
C) \& H, x* Y$ L, A8 o4 r! ?• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
" H2 B2 g- V' `- L, i• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
- T, w/ x( R. |( U; Qthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; : X) M6 P: ]# M
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the & r* Y; Q" W. g
changing needs of the organization and community;

! M$ g% u* z' ~2 n6 xcommitments;
9 Z k# `/ A7 [" L• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;

' q* N. K1 ]; w, A: V6 K8 yselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 1 |) i. w( S; y9 V
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
* w0 H/ R$ w/ L• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to % b! m% i) v# y. D1 e9 j
effectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / Y( ]3 K8 l% b5 o% o7 b4 G( L
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 5 B1 s) A1 u" U5 d% D
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. B( |0 E/ L5 B* x m4 g4 Xperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED - y. ~3 d2 o( P3 B. ^* x4 k2 l
the forthcoming year;

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; $ w7 G4 y( G% A' T
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation $ ^# J: X/ C( x* h2 U# ]
abilities;
$ F4 w& z6 Q1 z: r• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
4 N& j+ d7 |* D+ L* dNetworking and Fundraising;
