Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
/ W- l" Q- I+ s8 e. Fthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by . ?! ?5 S Z0 F) i+ A C" {
the Board of Directors; ' \9 l- V8 z3 T6 S. I; _) z
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 7 k7 E; e g+ O* U" ]
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
& |$ l5 R+ u' O/ D% J5 [7 qenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
( R3 ^! k1 B/ D- `• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 9 ?& ]+ p4 z$ E
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
+ w2 O! p* }( h) R: N• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion " R; p7 a& a y% o! p* \# J
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
2 n* O- X: U) @+ |• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
$ e2 t% T: `9 Zchanging needs of the organization and community;
: D0 `/ K* j) W0 G3 j8 n# d# I• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue
: ~# N H- V+ `4 H- p' n4 x0 Qcommitments;
+ j% G2 d" Z1 G% L4 y5 G• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
, r* Y9 x+ I N) H" k! \• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
) d& @% G0 t0 J B- mselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
% Q: K/ J. X1 L4 x) h7 _6 ~. h• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; + Z! w+ n q5 G! \6 p
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to 7 ^3 b( _# A0 G( y
effectively and positively represent the association;

1 y1 m. e' c+ Y' t9 {! c" ?• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
! N, @" s& C$ q; D9 p! B7 g7 Lthe implementation of systems to manage these risks; 4 B; U* F8 D1 _" Q' q+ s
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
, u. j) y4 k& o8 T0 Vperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED * G- N& v, U) @9 v$ |! R& q- a. g
the forthcoming year;
; o) d6 z5 @+ }7 h" n) ]$ s, A• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 7 s# J' P. D- o# v
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ; n o' q" X$ n! T# k2 m& v ]2 x7 O

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

Required Professional Designation / Certification 5 [* \9 D p& U0 m
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. ) Y3 Z/ @) x, n

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 8 [8 ]/ d. D) n" }
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation

3 [8 e3 X& B* {5 o L7 j0 V, Y4 B• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
