The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of ! K3 c2 ?/ u& f' y
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
; q6 l. j$ Q4 tthe Board of Directors;
* H2 Z9 {. S6 H6 t( l. `8 P7 v) B• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
$ R: u4 w2 Z7 B8 ]3 N4 R' R8 zincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to + Z, u3 n9 [) x; y
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; * D4 l4 \% M% P$ u1 e& K, Z
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and " v d: h- _ D% A
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

! s/ W& a7 O+ ^2 l• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
& T X5 O6 q# C, ^0 H ?• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
6 b: L* g2 g+ o4 Z6 ]$ V6 Vthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) o# f* W& y ]- y8 d. z }9 g• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the

• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

- q; A# f7 b1 e* s+ z0 q$ I• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
0 e$ E. Z$ ]* ` l# J+ J/ \• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective . W- c" k! T0 i; ^! Z# a8 E
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;

• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

& v/ q" [, l" n8 ^/ \• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
; v1 j* I) {& b& ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks; , L$ L- D( i, Z" b! A
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
T$ I- J9 v9 H1 h) X% T* bperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
7 j) b$ U8 \& a2 u6 E' a5 Ithe forthcoming year; 6 T1 r( x5 A- m5 C) u
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 4 f# V6 R# O3 a% S- h( s& o7 g" ^
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 7 Y; P; K1 K! m
YWCA Canada; and

Required Professional Designation / Certification " {: N# p7 A0 {; W6 O, o/ `; M
• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. # S# m8 j2 D+ D

Required Experience + R" |( t) m) T
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
1 w: q5 C) V5 e" W) \( H3 d! E• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
; \8 B3 U7 f1 y% nabilities; 7 s: o$ N8 j2 n/ I
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
8 m2 \+ f" q& c3 UNetworking and Fundraising; 4 [" U$ T* a# h% [3 Q
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
. i" P4 O3 C L# Z, Jand financial statements; and - ]5 u3 y3 V8 ^/ q" ?) m
• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women
