The IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers6 V& P/ o: z. W/ L5 s$ X
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
$ f+ Z; z: w" W- W" a: C+ b* s§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
* E; @2 F: N% r§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
0 n& j# K, U6 I§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
/ A6 i: {. p# x7 E1 W z§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert$ Q5 V H i* f# J: C, m" x
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
; K O$ P2 F1 @6 Q X0 f. i§ Special projects as required& w3 g: V4 r; z1 c
§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls

Qualifications:
8 ? F% j% R2 g- [9 i* C: T4 V! W§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience
( w; x/ \3 e: t, S: ]: j/ H§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
; \8 t6 N, }! g5 K U§ Fundamental commitment to customer service8 g( m% J- @/ A, X- v$ n
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues' P) M$ {4 [) e& P7 Y) N
§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
/ [( y/ W8 B7 b; h0 v! R3 U§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
8 B& w- {6 K) E0 O5 k9 Q }! y$ D& h§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems/ c+ M; U- P1 G5 [- k0 ]2 U; A

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support
$ U8 W! D; e7 F3 p+ i§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
( E% p& e& x) F9 x§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports
# N! X: a/ Q, K, h) @4 g§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
' t1 Y. Y1 m/ t1 h$ P ]! n§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to9 _; R2 U$ Y1 N$ E E5 N0 ]
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
1 H% k8 z' r+ y: c/ b3 W' g§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
' f; s; H$ g( I& B4 `. c§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures$ @& _' q; F3 Y0 ?
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan" r" R- t' ^4 P+ ~
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk

§ Collaboration on development of internal intranet and external website maintenance
