Position: IT Small Systems Specialist

Position Summary:
, J3 E4 I* H" k6 C; L# FThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.- `5 i1 l( H/ R! `. L

1 j, z2 P/ P* ]9 Z" _. A1 B& ^§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers9 d( ]1 ]7 b. B) D% U. v7 j2 v; T. t
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
  v  {+ U$ m5 Y/ g% i§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation- H1 R9 {7 R: ~
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
; h2 ^. ?* K9 {1 L$ E- o§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
% J# W0 C8 }' N5 i5 U§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert% t9 c3 O. p3 r5 {9 R* T: M
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
; s7 i* z5 s  O  `; `7 R§ Special projects as required& D. z& T, {9 N1 c- c; D2 v
§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls1 {/ |; ]; B3 Y" A) h7 ~

Qualifications:
6 ]# R# _$ A5 c* h$ K5 i! A§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience
6 C9 s3 g7 k4 _& [' n/ ^* u2 F. j§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
; G$ u8 G' c% m§ Fundamental commitment to customer service
) a3 W( I& _* p  o§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
$ \" r, M# n, c& M§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware
& U8 `9 {6 `  c" x5 m§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
6 A3 l6 M( \+ o' Y' ]+ b9 m§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems0 A, M$ \# Y  e" |1 d9 c5 u

# V& k6 \3 Q' r  b& dThe IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).   u" K6 O1 s6 e# n" w8 N

§ Manage a stable local IT environment , h  P+ u: f5 G2 j
§ Manage and coach staff in IT group
, h+ |4 a) i; E6 @6 z§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support7 t$ g- U: [/ \$ K+ f6 y0 m
§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
8 x1 e; N6 o# {% y! A8 S§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports# ~, ]& p) i* f2 S
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation+ e/ s, r2 }0 @2 }0 N0 y" o
§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to
- s3 ~6 Z) k" c) ?' x§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
! i3 i6 f7 J  @$ @3 P§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access' G- L0 ~4 \, w- j* S; J# ~. E) z
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures' [6 z8 ]* R8 h# W- H
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan4 }( z' h$ @% {; b* i+ z6 r
§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
) @) z/ A1 k  y6 u4 y8 B- _§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert; K. l0 m4 b2 H9 n& y- j
§ Provide technical and procedural recommendations to management

§ Coordinate and support end user training

在国内应征的话还敢。在这里既没加拿大经验,英语也不好,想都不去想这些位置啊。
