Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
% x6 k( N/ _7 X& z7 b6 U1 [ After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. 4 w8 W" M- I1 o
It is a cycle.

/ @5 X$ Y* @. \6 ]% R' a" o% HWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.; T# R) i" U7 O6 K! r: A+ @
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.6 O, u# F3 C# d
The problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
) x$ b) V9 m9 ]4 K; E$ z& y# wUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.! G: e* Y) M( y; y. B v. b
Confirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.- d2 ?! r3 r& d; u+ e

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.
$ \: r2 w. r, X2 Z) wThey have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
" t2 s! j% [3 d' d5 U: } It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
