Responsibilities
% Y! r* k' B' ~3 s( cAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
: q$ a4 W' d- pWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
Maintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
$ ^- C4 Y1 c$ I- H, R0 ~Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
/ d9 m2 P3 H1 aParticipates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
9 }) v; z# ?$ c- bQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
# i6 X3 C" k1 Z& M+ V% J  c! J& mComputer skills an asset.
& G0 n/ W" y- Y. G, J* ]5 {An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
