Responsibilities
; t+ T% d" p2 n' R1 vAssists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
Works co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
+ I( P6 w6 |) i. {& t* a/ e, AMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
" s6 s8 K  E2 s& m" cMaintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
, \) |' |! M+ K* yIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
2 @6 B+ J6 f5 }0 ]) r, {/ b. |Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
2 b4 f/ \8 X! K9 ]- pQualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
! ^0 b# t7 K+ w( Q  B+ ~Computer skills an asset.
1 N4 W2 Y, Z  X! ^* h& ~An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
/ J  W+ W; h! p" H$ G% m4 F& pProficiency in a second language is an asset.
