Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

Responsibilities:* z* D5 w! t( s0 k
- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth# d8 m6 n: E1 N h/ S$ ^; h
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
& c5 D: \& h+ M( j$ H- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups; G) O' g7 ?1 b/ ^) d5 L X
- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs" i; f" L! Q4 U8 ]4 ?
- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

Key Qualifications:
) J) j( D3 q! H3 l2 m$ q- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences1 M7 Y7 V* Q- q5 Q7 y
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement" _8 \" d. Z7 V: z
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
0 ]7 ^$ M, v) v+ W- `- Experience doing program development: y* ~2 j, E/ C
- Strong organizational and coordination skills' K% V0 M4 {) E& |2 x
- Self-directed and able to take initiative9 d3 O0 ~5 l, b
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset2 \' ^; y' M) F* Z* j0 E
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health- X. V( K) o$ N/ }2 H
- Skills in marketing & promotions9 u; u0 K0 _7 k! W% C) A3 e
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
