Responsibilities:
. G0 t1 T, U& y) ?- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
4 L* h+ f% n* ^- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling- R4 s2 d; t% ~, G1 E
- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
& Z0 j! _- J" A% \1 \7 Y, C- J- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
" _4 p( X4 c q& v- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health8 d K, I4 ~& ]1 Z; t
' p- ?3 r* ~9 m0 {1 ~
$ i* b# Z8 G. ]3 u5 B* jKey Qualifications:
. g' Z. X6 j* h- P! {- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences" E+ y0 k9 W- ?! I
- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement! l/ y% X1 R- X! B( g; [- a) ^( Q& [
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others% I3 I4 e G- j% Q
- Experience doing program development
6 F& s) @" L8 Y# Y. g- Strong organizational and coordination skills8 M+ x; [9 p6 k! z6 P9 q( v0 s" N
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
; O7 I$ f% e n1 @: l# i5 X- r- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
- \* F: K+ T7 T( B0 D3 L4 A- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license
