Position: Project Coordinator, Smart Choices.

; h  e) T9 Z) B- ?Responsibilities:
6 ?; L% D( R7 b( Y6 J. U-        Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth
, y( x0 @# b, n' T: h( z* l9 p-        Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
-        Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
+ e* M8 ?7 [# O9 ^2 R-        Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
-        Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health

! B) F* \, K5 X/ h! p* _6 G" \! mKey Qualifications:
- h+ L9 @6 A7 R  ?1 \& ~3 n8 r6 y5 M-        Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
-        At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement
-        Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others
-        Experience doing program development
5 X" Q' d* m, v4 k; G8 h-        Strong organizational and coordination skills
: u7 t# |6 L8 H7 q6 h-        Self-directed and able to take initiative
-        Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset
-        Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

Assets:
1 Y$ [4 I8 L. p; L-        Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation
-        Knowledge of and experience working with immigrant and refugee communities
! {' q# |  k% g5 i; q( F  b-        An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health
4 u5 a7 F6 m$ b- W-        Skills in marketing & promotions
-        Some evening and weekend work may be required
