To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
! V2 ~) F8 a% x& E) t" P+ Y. o7 B4 K8 ?" _( p
have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician * A& G4 D3 Y8 Q8 T4 U Q& `/ a, G( n: B
Time spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.

complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office6 Z k; w& H/ E, ~6 E

9 X: l3 G7 T3 n: q7 g7 W: p4 iThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
