THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
' V- f, g5 p" u4 |# Q7 X1 Q4 _& cThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
  T) U$ i& n, X! Y, a2 a5 |0 PEligibility Criteria
7 X8 ?: j6 @1 g8 i3 T1 ~! I) _( jAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
/ Z5 V' W% d9 d: g) G$ p1 [•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
' E, T8 L# E( q8 l! R# A•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
. A$ a4 @- j7 `- P•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
8 J$ j$ w3 \* W; k•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
2 x$ z% Z  q; G& r, B: s' h9 w•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
# h& J; \  x+ a& U" F3 }7 n•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
•Lack access to professional networks
- Q; V; d- a( l" W# H& z0 K# ^•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
