CHANGE FOR CHILDREN ASSOCIATION (CFCA) is an Alberta-based, charity with 33 years of experience working for sustainable, community development in Latin America and Africa and providing a comprehensive global education program in Canada. CFCA is lead by a volunteer Board of Directors and a small, flat-structured core staff which includes: International Projects Program Manager, Education/Public Engagement Program Manager and Funds Development Program Manager. CFCA’s projects and programming are funded by private donors, government grants, foundations, fundraising events, and campaigns.

Key administrative duties:

• Act as first point of contact for donors, partners, members, other stakeholders, and the general public.

1 V8 A2 ]7 K+ `( u$ _+ J5 o" y• Complete data entry in various programs.2 t4 n, _$ E! ^" {, \

• Maintain an organized filing system for office records, meeting minutes, government registrations and donor records; Process annual government and charitable registrations forms.

2 ]" t( E, Z. ]  S; H• Order and organize office supplies; Manage and maintain office systems and environment including policy and procedures manual and office operations manual.

• Manage office technology software licensing and hardware maintenance.

( \( d7 o+ X$ B5 w0 C8 Z• Maintain organizational calendar of events, meeting coordination and up to date membership lists of committees and groups.

) {8 y- \5 t' Y$ t5 C, _• Manage all CFCA administrative communications such as liaising with financial institutions, service providers etc. related to administrative management.

• Support maintenance of Human Resources records and the development of employee handbook.

• Perform financial administrative duties as required.

International Projects and Public Engagement/Communications:8 @  N) `1 I! i

• Process volunteer applications, track volunteer hours, and assist with volunteer scheduling.' b9 |2 f% h# ]. E6 V" Y

3 `% k  x- A' d  J3 {7 |, Z• Identify and maintain a current media list and database. File all media articles and press coverage of CFCA.

• Support the promotion of CFCA events in Alberta through online and print publicity resources." {% f* H* s. ~1 }' x7 t

4 J  K, Y& _; Y( u4 \• Support the management of requests for CFCA information and resources at public events.

• Compile information packages for fundraising and promotional purposes.

: y% _" |5 A3 E6 v" g+ w3 w• Manage database and support distribution of print publications.

4 z: n8 `/ q' t0 o- T- K. G& m• Weekly out-of-office errands as required (get cheques signed by Board members, drop off grant applications, and pick up office supplies). These errands will require personal transport.3 G- f3 z) a1 Y& B( ]

Fund Development
) o5 V4 @) O- X, m  T7 b8 Q5 m9 @/ a2 v
• Provide logistical support for key fundraising events such as silent auctions, x6 d! X: o4 ^8 j# e7 {, p8 w5 C

• In conjunction with the Funds Development Program Manager, maintain donor database and ensure delivery of timely charitable receipts.

• Coordinate volunteers for some fundraising events such as Casino and annual sales events.% j+ O! a& t' V6 Y! Y# v1 D8 i

$ b( N  C0 _4 E- L+ k* U• Support logistical work required for CFCA’s Annual General Meeting# T/ f3 C, _* R6 b
; o  j, c# R' m9 ?' U
• Assist in administrative tasks related to donor recognition and event reconciliation as required.

/ \5 K& y" Q# g  O! `Skills and Qualifications: Education or work experience in office administration and experience with non-profit organizations an asset. Excellent communication and administrative skills; excellent oral and written communication skills; strong administrative and computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook or Outlook Express; Willingness to train on other relevant software; Very strong teamwork and time-management skills; commitment to social justice and sustainable community development.

Term:
