Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
3 [. O* f* g- I% I3 d5 D, Q0 qEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 1 j7 P& t$ n3 Q

Duties: Special Events
# D1 l+ X4 A6 T3 l9 }; c% pPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
8 o& V8 m' c" f· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 2 M9 N" k# z Z W& t" v8 y n
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist # n3 C0 W6 W6 P* L! M! g
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
' Y9 p; x8 p3 Ladvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
. L* @' }5 B7 lset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. & W9 M D4 A/ x5 u: ~
· Attend and manage Special Events 9 O# S: a0 T- I" p8 ]! F/ S
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

; k1 n9 [3 K5 f2 I, U- ODuties: Volunteer Coordination 2 A7 E7 r+ L0 }
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: , z; B8 |7 f2 }
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
& F4 [5 Z" p4 K& w8 R' s! {· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 7 {- B5 ?& j4 g0 L. z0 O9 N
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
# ^6 ?$ l# c2 a· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
% N9 A5 ^. j2 x· Complete program administration, statistics and records ( r; i% N% {' ~: H
: A T2 P. U! G1 F3 BQualifications: - T+ d, v+ ]" }" o) o, \; i. U
· Completion of 12th0 P% V" b3 M. \+ i O! @
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
' z$ l* \; @, y' c! {Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 6 G1 g! ?: g+ W
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 6 X" B* {9 m! M5 L! b, d4 S9 G
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
' M/ p9 t) x8 c* W9 o· Experience working with and managing volunteers
# a& p9 j- q3 y+ O$ j% b8 r0 X· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
; v; O a6 \0 p· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 6 H' b d7 `: I b( e" Z
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ) t( _( p" I$ s
· Security Clearance
