Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
" S% r+ I, v4 q& bEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

# [$ U) }2 I! G1 o* d9 KPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: ; y* P, T8 X$ c5 h" j
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
# p+ l) ?! w- a6 J7 P9 o· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist : p: M k- f C" g$ {: [% A. P0 {+ y
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the + @4 h1 V$ R5 p/ q4 e% s
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
A. {- }$ `0 Z6 L- y! B* A( qset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee $ {; v9 w4 T' H8 |. j
! T5 J- f# v/ f' r; cDuties: Volunteer Coordination
* L2 K+ b! M0 P* H) T1 ^Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 7 A X* x2 c/ h, T; {( f8 ]
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions + T( p1 S( r z9 ?" O
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
' l( ~1 ^& _" b6 g5 ?· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
$ Y8 J1 c/ u5 b! G* z7 i) j, N( B· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
( b! W! v1 R3 b+ f5 G6 S( q· Complete program administration, statistics and records

· Completion of 12th( i7 P- R5 @, g- e
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 9 F1 U* [0 d/ s1 f* O
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ' |" N+ F- A( K; m/ L
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
% Q' Q ?1 _7 Q3 iexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events |" e. n3 K3 e
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
% {* c% x; O! I- g, Z· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
