Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events
- v; R0 C( c) k4 J: LPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: % ^3 }5 a+ m d6 |7 q
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee 1 S8 ]/ m- H4 v- W
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist 5 k0 X4 R* i+ U/ i3 p" A
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
% b" R$ Q: H' O6 x9 _7 |advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ' W2 Z2 L5 f! V& Q1 \/ I. p
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 5 \. c. Q$ w8 @2 R6 e
· Attend and manage Special Events

7 S3 X3 N X$ GDuties: Volunteer Coordination
8 J8 Y' m+ f- q1 pAssist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ) z" M/ H6 Y) u
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
5 }9 Z1 }3 c: [5 j8 u· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers ' v. |4 ~ [2 A# \
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers % ^1 B8 B- I% o* s! W7 ~5 \$ l2 ^
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers & X+ O. W* @& }
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications: 7 t. @1 U! j$ |$ J
· Completion of 12th$ K) Y# B8 O6 a2 n- g$ j
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation / t; ?4 r8 J( f0 x* Q- G0 x
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
" h2 V6 Q# _1 `- P5 g· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
1 o; t5 t9 l8 p n1 Kexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
+ O) |8 N6 A$ E& g· Experience working with and managing volunteers . B/ @1 n4 v' T8 L$ r
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
' G- ]' _' g% x8 b& a( u· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
% m6 V6 `) z) q3 u( B$ @4 h# S U· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
4 a$ V" m9 I9 t1 @· Security Clearance

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
