Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special ( w* T# b+ M |% C/ J
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties: Special Events 7 L/ U/ e- q* Q5 h5 [" W* K
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
( }( F/ o/ t* M1 W· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
: o$ T/ E+ {& O8 N* v, D/ _/ x· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
: ?; z9 r# `2 _# owith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
% v/ x( \# j; Z ^; {% C# O0 |7 `advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure $ D5 S7 I$ ?- D& ]2 d9 O2 M
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. % y5 p; v9 D" K$ m7 `: d
· Attend and manage Special Events
: ?/ w! ~2 d6 @! P· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee # U+ Y9 U1 ]# j1 {( E' z; g/ s. T! S6 y

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: , r6 |& R0 s6 s& O, F8 f: _: S( U& W5 N- i
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
2 i* b- V! }# o0 W· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
( P4 D. A% C# d; F· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
. @! @4 p6 S3 S$ q· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 7 e9 j$ B* U1 z, e! b. B
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

Qualifications:
0 |5 ^7 a6 S& o2 z. x0 O; v3 P· Completion of 12th Y1 {& I1 V3 \# D
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ~$ [' E- J2 D7 G
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 5 M6 Q- s+ @3 r; i+ }0 \8 Y' |$ T
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct + }$ H( M$ g3 [. X5 W
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
( j& k. W* s/ t; f9 y6 P2 `· Experience working with and managing volunteers
" a8 c( _! u4 A4 p" \· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
