Duties: Special Events
9 Z3 N3 X0 ]' Z4 m U$ w% I1 r* MPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 9 Y M" ^+ }) g! I( I
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
' M/ p; k2 B y& y: f# B· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist ! Z. k* K% B: P- [. p# Q
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the - O& ~8 y7 e# r. q/ P
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure `9 i6 @0 j4 f
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee & J! C7 c0 t4 T: n& X3 q# {# i8 W# S
9 ]0 b {5 a: X- R9 W! EDuties: Volunteer Coordination }% {: v9 l3 Y
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: R- i# E0 b) V/ b F% @7 K( K9 Y8 G
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions ! p% C/ [6 B! t( z+ x# }2 x
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
- I4 ~" ~2 ]! H- K· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers : I: h5 q; q; b% J- G/ w* t
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers 9 \: F' c" |" r* U4 p8 g% a9 f
· Complete program administration, statistics and records - T* {; S0 d4 \1 f

· Completion of 12th5 p N$ I7 F1 T8 Q
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
2 S6 w) t& E; i8 vAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. / t& n; b# i* a
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
. c; o7 w/ X. R( m) O" F7 vexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 2 [* d4 W, {: A2 P& |1 o
· Experience working with and managing volunteers : A! v* u, h: d. n
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
" ^1 W+ q, k# [· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ; |" D% r- }" P+ r4 j
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work , b0 T, L8 D' j3 l) E* i
