' e( e, {. E7 S. D4 n% x * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory/ W- G+ }7 N; Z4 K; B6 Q& m
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
; z! `4 N; n0 Q; U; z+ `! ? * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
; x3 `) U7 [0 _: y * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations7 r* X% C/ r! z( a. v
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations3 V9 ?% t9 v2 i' a" a& @& }

Qualifications
2 C9 I+ U" x ?( P1 L$ V& {. {: L, z
* Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
' X' ]5 |. V3 C" R1 Q% [: T * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
4 s( B( W& |) s0 T* A Z * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers1 a7 ?5 _: S6 Q d$ F; @
* WHMIS training" ]$ o6 y# U$ R& ]! @5 T, U
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset" Z3 q A# n& s5 t
