Duties; ]4 h% k/ J5 w- W0 V; C
1 B! A6 f7 Q3 n4 s2 w. y! _! ` * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory/ w+ V' H1 V g$ v" k, [
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr- X" p) T" ]( ^, Z! p
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps/ \. ]2 `9 Y/ E+ \
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations- j. K# @7 E% c( J
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

6 r0 C+ _- `2 I9 EQualifications& x4 M0 t- Y) H2 A1 k/ O2 `
5 c% E( T$ _/ N. U" s# `# @ * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
8 D% e2 \( F6 i U* p! | * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
. K* d% p3 I X& @# J * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
+ P+ N9 c1 o G% r- J0 t * WHMIS training) h& v- ^# `: \8 u; r5 P+ L5 Q
* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
