Program Overview:
: R% y- B1 M+ ?; P) ]0 p1 W5 _" X
Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
# y! K6 L1 H- a- M8 A, _. {% _1 zskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
+ e  R5 F" B& N) W% |warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
: W. o& C- m2 @' P9 M1 Q. x0 Jcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
) G' O% c4 S+ {" I: _, t  A$ y9 Lsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
* I+ m, Z4 x! y9 F& coccupation
9 V# X, c9 ^% h5 F! a; }6 X*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
; _5 j2 @- Z! d  @7 m*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

$ Q4 d* o# y/ L) _0 |                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
& r( H5 L/ B, k; ifield trips
, M& s& B  q0 V1 k7 K        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
/ J, O* @# ?% O4 l+ n2 K        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97
