Program Overview:

" a" e: E6 \: d2 U% V8 |% x) O/ hIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
( E; B+ a+ c# k1 B. f$ J- ^$ F- bexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

) ]5 F+ t/ H. K) o4 k( I
* R; @+ J5 n/ |7 yCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
% i' p2 O/ E8 O) b5 N8 R/ Q; K*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
# j* m8 ?6 G6 c( s; ?+ ?secondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
, u  G8 b$ R7 b: [+ a. F8 b*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
1 G- I) W3 ^! d/ b        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
) [6 K1 g/ {  O' f5 h* S$ thigh-demand occupations
$ J0 K. ?! U9 b9 b; H" I        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
& a( t8 C3 J' Z" v9 t# Y6 XInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
5 T0 h' V( C  P4 s1 B* k& B7 z        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
. Q) ?1 `* a" z0 z1 ?2 t                        *        1 month work-experience placement
