Program Overview:

Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

# K* q) d$ a+ D1 M! K& ]Candidate Profile:

; |7 {3 V+ N4 v+ F, j! JCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
7 ~2 C. O3 C! h5 s8 j*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
: _  m4 a& O9 k  E! O. f8 @*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
+ u. w, j/ T7 l( S  H# K9 h- O$ Ysecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
: a8 Z+ V* T( w+ S- B$ k7 k% S5 l*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

; C7 }5 T+ X8 t( HProgram Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
2 m3 |% h# Q/ v        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
- N4 W6 }+ R" V        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
; i7 O) V+ U4 u8 G4 n. h6 M        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
2 r% x3 P; N, w6 A: ~0 r        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
! `9 ~: A( g. Y0 `; Z( V( G                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        Monday to Friday
        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
