Program Overview:

1 E% w! D5 K, \* d9 u+ q) gIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
! d3 F- ]# F, Zskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
  V" F4 e$ k/ v: _0 y* r$ jexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
- m( ^5 O- N" I0 c1 ^services and others.

Candidate Profile:
+ W# B$ W' E% e, _
' w' B& f4 O9 \9 l: dCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
$ s* ]( t$ T% {9 `citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
7 G3 H4 d/ U) t2 V, Q*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
% w% `0 }5 y+ J* V8 p- w4 s" [. W+ i*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
* @( O! J3 Q, s9 N1 d1 W8 [occupation
0 m& K& t# H8 A; `*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

; V3 H, G( v2 o" v' p! y' YProgram Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
7 o. A1 q* Y1 a( T% q5 zInternet, etc.)
# z& f* T$ H3 L4 M4 S        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
