Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff

Key Responsibilities Include:
: g- Z% t9 N2 Y% x JActivity Planning and Daily Activity
' a' @" v3 s) W+ o• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
3 H$ a% h0 G0 @6 S6 Y• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ( S$ |) V2 W2 z, ~
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 0 }2 D" _( F7 f5 O I
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.4 A3 X3 V. |: N% y
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
# k& @; G0 l" x- C2 [) h$ l+ D7 U• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:. y4 h8 p2 J" Y7 u0 c2 n E9 o
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting, i! V7 _) K# _7 J2 j% r- y
• Experience with children: @: J- y! C' [2 w( E& `) v- z+ J4 z
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth - A) J3 |4 P( _2 A7 c+ `
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.2 Q% q9 }4 `) R3 n. G5 R2 b
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

; ^6 o6 K7 @ ^# F& Y& {• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
& ] a% E3 b3 y& \8 u• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 7 C5 c* g4 l4 i, _% L$ w* d
