Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 4 n' Z" R9 ?9 D$ C: A! ]6 P, J( {

(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

Key Responsibilities Include:
8 a S% v. Z* E0 a u' RActivity Planning and Daily Activity% B8 H1 O+ |- E" R& k' X1 |
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.& V6 w4 o3 W8 I" x' L
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
5 d# J4 i z$ a• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 3 G9 Y0 I! O. [: W
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
9 S7 {, W7 ]! D% Y8 h• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time." R. w; p3 e* F1 m5 [
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:& S& Y2 B& j% p
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 t+ v" e+ x6 D" u3 H( P' ~
• Experience with children4 [. c4 ]$ e# y7 G+ b- Q
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth % }' [4 O N9 B7 y
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.' V4 b( Z, Z* Q: B; i. ~! H
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

! g. J* d- }! c7 q+ W1 j• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check Z% d% T( G: p8 J' K
