Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

4 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Staff
(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

8 v6 V1 u& s, K  y8 a7 rKey Responsibilities Include:
6 d- Q" Z. a2 m  Z$ mActivity Planning and Daily Activity
( m/ t0 Z: h* i& R# J; u•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
0 x6 g& o, s0 u4 [•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
; ?, n5 }5 ]5 I$ m0 o. w•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
# }% y+ V! [! M8 g$ h1 S! u& N•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
* H; T1 f, H* l5 F# j0 Z( A•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
•        Experience with children
/ }" O8 d# o9 B•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check

In addition to an excellent work environment, The Africa Centre & Big Brothers Big Sisters offer an hourly salary of $15-hour .
