Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. 6 M* A! Y- z+ {, b3 i( E* U

Activity Planning and Daily Activity2 w6 [. C8 z* C8 U. k" Y0 q T
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
1 e+ J. W7 b) ?& w( d, o• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. & ]* ~2 P, G3 f
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 6 n8 h) i! G+ O9 v0 r
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.2 I4 y1 {" g0 @- y- l* J3 X
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.3 b! U+ {2 }+ e8 C; f8 a4 ^
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.+ L" P3 S! ^- a6 ~% ^/ q! W5 x# G- W% C
) k- |4 V! t# q2 y8 EThe successful candidate will have:
/ ~6 N& @3 H0 o1 j1 z* J• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
) y( z) h7 B( P3 o• Experience with children/ m% w- S+ t& |/ r
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ( H, X4 d7 k* |) D. U
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.9 y+ r- i9 I7 _: q( {8 F
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.5 B" p* q5 F) P* K
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
6 e7 c) g6 K# X5 w9 u# Z' Y7 w• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
; U- V( Z3 C* z7 J• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
