Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. i1 `2 Z/ l! J0 j

(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school)

Activity Planning and Daily Activity
4 e" x# }- Q# {1 { d4 L• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
/ q' }3 _' F0 U0 ~. p, E0 D9 Y• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 0 T7 ]$ l# ]2 Y& m4 r6 W
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 9 L% B# g( i) H, }; w x) p
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.% a8 E9 ~" o" J9 |
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time., Q R5 a0 U" Z. [) C9 u- k( b9 o* s
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting" G# f T% J8 K5 h1 e9 k# Z' `6 o6 t
• Experience with children+ G- W S4 W/ h) g8 K: j) `, t
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth ! A8 W( B1 B& y! g! b
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.. E4 f4 P' E. o% v* c" S9 q, {$ R
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
