Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. % |1 _* i) c: J0 D% \

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students % Q r0 U6 u. ]

. a% L3 ?4 H) W/ W9 k9 F8 I7 t) @Activity Planning and Daily Activity( S ~, x( o$ Z- N1 J4 f! [5 m! A
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
+ x1 O6 _6 |, L) g• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. / i/ ]3 \* e4 x9 D9 G( w
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
$ j# H. q) l- T% L, X4 i8 \; T• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
8 N6 X7 Y' ~1 X8 T• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
) a& C( P" Z3 s; H• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.1 D5 i1 I# X% v; y( P u1 e

The successful candidate will have:
4 P; J u0 L& I" d7 g9 z• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting# d- S: m7 ]$ H
• Experience with children
P% f6 M: o' G( b E• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 6 A0 D0 B2 L6 z
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
. Y* P/ {/ \& K: ^. a• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.0 }+ K# t+ K$ Y" |$ S; v
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
+ r! f1 j2 ]. Z) j• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check : l. W) f( n! X( [
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 4 p7 d) m& O3 e& \
