Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. 3 n) C7 e ~5 l. g& w0 z F( x

, F3 X Y/ ^3 `5 d& z2 {! Y" }+ iKey Responsibilities Include
; x2 R6 U' [- s( xActivity Planning and Daily Activity5 x Q4 k4 V0 Q5 Y) |% p9 t5 G7 y
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
: X8 t$ r, ?- t& p( u, c2 l• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. 0 D( \- E7 Q) O( |" U7 p# E
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, & `" m+ N$ f0 G1 F; f* Z4 ?
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
/ D4 x. `! B" P& B8 A( n• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time. M& i ]7 H# |2 q
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

The successful candidate will have:
9 n- i8 e, g( }; Y• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
3 O/ ^. Z- r4 C! m& Y• Experience with children0 {$ H/ X, ]6 u' `
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth " F7 y/ y. l7 D' @) }9 D
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.; p P- @( [ x
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.

• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check B3 a! y+ Y+ r% A
