FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 1 ?* Q8 T& Y& i G4 `
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to ; U6 x7 Q7 K( b8 @" A7 @2 w& V" Z
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 1 z# i: Y" k& o9 Z
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 6 D+ W- R: U" y4 X7 R& `
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
) P% ^. E0 J! r$ rand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 |; b' z, t! w- `3 [' t# Zresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and 8 E1 G" ^ m6 b9 i
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
! M0 c b- R9 Y9 X( SFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as : X% Z( z7 U# q+ |- x& B
well as the script, magazine and book library.
( \! B3 f0 H7 s0 K+ O- b$ K : n1 i2 a0 \- g& |; L6 F
Duties:
- c# Y% A) _1 @- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 9 [, C, w ~7 P' W$ u
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
( U" ] P# o2 M" x- Implement a catalogue template for future use & j5 k( U# z9 p3 W' E0 ?
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
8 x( m/ c6 e- n+ u7 G+ O$ Q- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
# L$ s- j! {7 c , J4 P- d2 z9 Q' I: g

secondary training, university preferred " m+ t. ~) a6 y, e# j( G0 L- T1 B
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week

- Strong organizational skills ' [# o- {( Q' ?/ i0 M9 o
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
