summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to + }; r* z: `) L) x0 ~1 S8 S
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
+ S, r. s+ g+ X1 v, N( SAlberta.

8 ]2 A, h* m- [FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ' _8 G, b1 O$ ^2 `# H( b
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
$ j) G2 s; j# O' c0 h$ ]and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
& R. ?& q6 @% k U! P' @resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
* a, V( p; l' j" Z( T& u0 jscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the 8 w+ ?3 G' y0 h
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
6 \0 ?, w: f, X/ ~+ X3 n. @; k; \* Rwell as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: : {$ i( @* k0 g: N. P/ w6 f
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library - x/ ], ]8 q+ r8 W$ V9 o
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books # B1 N4 x1 ~8 ^, T" _" |: B$ O
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ' b3 }+ f# w% E3 b6 |5 e
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
( w9 ^7 a, Z9 {/ n' f$ h; p- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

. Z5 ~* P ]% V3 x; Z- }0 z- @- g- Strong organizational skills
* C0 M9 r! A/ v3 s, c% J+ s9 ?5 A' o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
