FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 7 X; F" y5 H' ~# t0 t
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to 4 N% G/ S, e1 C. w( u
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 5 M0 U2 y$ b$ k- g1 V

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from 1 @5 ~( O0 _" V
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 9 Y3 d% i. ]; b: E% L
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
, m! D# H3 |- k7 p" |resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
- T C" ~8 T/ e) Ascreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

. g% B6 f" w/ A5 ~0 }. v- A) WJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
+ U: U; a: o+ \FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
8 p' E2 i2 c1 r& h% H+ p' ewell as the script, magazine and book library. 6 d2 ?6 l3 p% _: I) x

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library 1 ?3 o2 Y6 L; O' d% h
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 6 P3 Y8 X; R5 n
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
$ w1 ~' y, X1 \7 G$ I- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
& X! l! j2 I9 ?- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable y$ H3 K- o& P0 `; c% d) H

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week 9 ~% C+ O& D5 t. W* ~! l# T8 q
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks ; C$ u0 \. R5 ]

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
$ N- K: N9 A4 i) r; x2 P2 x. C9 z K- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
6 F: k4 l3 i0 J- Strong organizational skills 2 [& m3 O: q3 M9 u- L( H% N
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 1 c+ z+ O, v6 H, M T! h5 V
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
& H6 F1 p. o# \- Strong team player abilities
