FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the 7 o3 `) z p* v! t5 \: z
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
9 _2 m$ Y8 W- @. T- P% g4 d; Bsupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern 4 W: A& o1 s8 s6 k$ G# F! p- |1 R) a. @% o
Alberta.

! @. v( W& h7 L7 xFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 ]0 G9 a/ H$ P9 O4 Uemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 p8 x$ `! e5 u
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a * k. Y! Z. V# v
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and % x1 ]/ W; L1 M, Y& D6 j
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
$ n4 \& I. x; O4 R0 Q0 y+ dFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as 0 ^1 p, d- s9 T8 ^3 H7 j9 \
well as the script, magazine and book library.

Duties: 0 t& B6 q* P W
- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library * D+ B5 s/ O- P, h- O) }
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 2 a/ D% i' n2 w3 e* B/ P, m
- Implement a catalogue template for future use
! V+ f; {5 I' i5 ~5 R- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
" o( g, L) ^9 U6 E4 C9 L- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

secondary training, university preferred

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts 4 P6 X! x6 x% W# _& f
- Strong organizational skills ( y( G5 \. O B& I+ T8 Y. q: \
- Experience or training in library sciences preferred
