FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization ( {8 s' b; C% {' t* y
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
) T" j4 @7 G) w5 e, k! V% l- Cemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video 6 X7 J8 J0 d1 M- |2 c7 @
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a ; q+ _$ U. X: ?% O& c. p; S4 V
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ' [6 l7 Z ?/ P. ?* c3 ]6 t2 T2 F" D- x
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
5 i" }$ ^1 `2 u' HDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by ' q9 [% e7 K6 f8 U' x1 g+ D, Z+ F
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

; D/ ?5 D7 A3 Q$ [- Assist with research on acquisition grants
6 ?/ Y2 T1 X: c( I. A- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
( T, x; J8 b/ I- S. d- Y4 q- Assist with equipment maintenance
( R8 y! I6 W/ |, b: q3 ?4 B, _- Assist with production logistics for programming events
Z5 e8 C3 q7 e- p' W- k- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 2 x* r+ u( {* d. V5 j) [5 E
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment

- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
