FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization & C: j9 H5 G! e, u# P5 D# [
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media
) K: q8 `2 b4 x: oartists from Northern Alberta.

3 u1 s! V4 f9 e; o9 qFAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from . \7 r% X' j! g# u( n& X" A% i, q1 X
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video % g! ~; S' v: l' z5 S
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
U" k5 {6 s+ M$ d. Bresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
: t, `/ ^$ n5 z; a5 |: ^2 C' qscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
* M' x# C& G% gAlberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
4 H5 N, Q; N8 w/ y' }Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by , k/ u$ ]5 X6 S4 z6 o6 s
assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department.

Duties:
6 |4 D6 P; m2 h/ w: H2 }- Assist with research on acquisition grants
+ B+ \: L( `0 U1 t& x- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
( ^. L) }4 f" U! `4 h! R- Assist with equipment maintenance . a! ~6 Q3 Z2 @+ M8 Z$ i; O6 k1 K: ^, a
- Assist with production logistics for programming events $ l# o- ]) ~9 u
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff 5 d, L u5 ?( O0 ]! n8 r$ y8 P
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable / `! q9 ?: z( k% h! p
- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts

- Advance organizational and research skills : H [$ x) U9 J0 U6 b: q2 c
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD
