FAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization . E- o5 _0 b+ ]: E! y) z0 t6 x
whose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media ! X5 ^* F* \4 n# A
artists from Northern Alberta.

and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
" ~$ u0 W1 U: g# P$ j* Yresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and ) W. L2 O+ q0 s( F- s6 ~, R2 j- s
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 1 k6 e4 `& I7 T3 H* k( z

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive % f3 f% }' X8 ^! ]2 R
Director and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
2 ^% T) ^0 g0 B7 J" ]assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. . C: d+ T7 ~) G! \5 z6 E- @

Duties: 9 ]6 o; L) W" ]5 G# H
- Assist with research on acquisition grants
: n% k) q0 |: S2 a5 }6 U& G- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities
2 S% S, V! d6 \5 b- u) j2 L& L- Assist with equipment maintenance t7 }& t4 I4 a) z0 t8 M
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 7 j* q. Z* f! G7 I w
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
7 z. W$ x2 ]- s- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable
* Y8 ? k5 N6 Y" m5 Q( E4 _; b- Provide vacation relief

- Advance organizational and research skills

- Strong team player abilities
