请问Leave包含laid off的含义吗？

我去年从Atlantic省搬到Edmonton，公司给了我搬家补助，并且签了协议书（Promissory Note)："Should I leave with 36 months of my employment start date I promise to reimburse the company the full amount"但是今年因shortage of work, I was laid off,公司又把搬家补助全额扣掉了. 我和公司争议 I was laid off, not "leave". 正在等待法庭仲裁。请问Leave包含本人被动离开，laid off的含义吗？多谢！

9 @% m5 Q* v9 ?. A一般来讲，leave含有主动离开的意思。
那句条款，显然也是为了避免你主动离开而设立的限制或者惩罚。
9 x& Y- A! `  O, P; N3 {本人对法律是外行，但是从commen sense 来看，公司是不对的，他们lay off 你，应该给你补偿才对，现在惩罚你，显然是霸道行为。

I filed a claim at Provincial Court, and the employer hired a lawyer, but I am confident I will win even I cannot afford to hire a lawyer. I am waiting for hearing.
