6 V( V H) ]) c6 G4 L4 c) NEdmonton ALPHA invites Edmonton's various communities to support a fund-raising dinner that seeks to promote peace and understanding between nations--in particular between China, Korea and Japan.

The fund raiser will be held on June 7, 2009. Your organization can help us in different ways: 1) by publicizing this event, 2) being a sponsor, 3) donating an item for our silent auction, and/or 4) buying a table of ten tickets. Edmonton ALPHA will acknowledge your support in our program brochure. ( x9 p& V) V c! z
3 l/ n1 q, o" ~' I: ^6 |2 B. nEdmonton ALPHA is a chapter of Canada ALPHA (Association for Learning and Preserving the History of WWII in Asia), a cross-Canada group of volunteer teachers, scholars and other interested people who share two common goals: (1) to seek a formal apology from the Government of Japan to those who were the victims of its aggression during WWII, and (2) to foster genuine and long-lasting reconciliation between Japan and its Asian neighbours. 3 `* O0 B6 Y$ X9 D6 A
% K6 M. ^3 R5 c0 B1 ^2 sBeginning in 2004, Canada ALPHA has helped sponsor Canadian teacher participation on study tours to China and Korea. During such study tours, teachers meet with scholars, lawyers, museum curators and--most importantly--survivors of Imperial Japan's atrocities. 1 p6 ]* h& {2 @% l. F& [7 ^
