Edmonton ALPHA invites Edmonton's various communities to support a fund-raising dinner that seeks to promote peace and understanding between nations--in particular between China, Korea and Japan.
/ X' x. h6 j0 r3 U! Q4 K0 }1 e( A- y% d, {2 p. G6 o" c
The fund raiser will be held on June 7, 2009. Your organization can help us in different ways: 1) by publicizing this event, 2) being a sponsor, 3) donating an item for our silent auction, and/or 4) buying a table of ten tickets. Edmonton ALPHA will acknowledge your support in our program brochure. ! q5 v9 m/ M2 H" a# A* K
5 e" q/ e' W4 V9 W( M# K3 VEdmonton ALPHA is a chapter of Canada ALPHA (Association for Learning and Preserving the History of WWII in Asia), a cross-Canada group of volunteer teachers, scholars and other interested people who share two common goals: (1) to seek a formal apology from the Government of Japan to those who were the victims of its aggression during WWII, and (2) to foster genuine and long-lasting reconciliation between Japan and its Asian neighbours.

5 K) l9 M* W8 G1 Z5 @4 OBeginning in 2004, Canada ALPHA has helped sponsor Canadian teacher participation on study tours to China and Korea. During such study tours, teachers meet with scholars, lawyers, museum curators and--most importantly--survivors of Imperial Japan's atrocities.
