Position title: Community Development Worker

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to
) T$ k4 f0 m6 Z provide services for Chinese community X; f' I* D: t) _6 `! Y5 s
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population
$ ^! |' p0 m2 m5 T. e access to mainstream services
$ n0 U9 W6 l+ [: N: i- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of
* A8 j5 ^( ]( F9 l social services
9 v' q7 x# N6 P" w/ t5 P$ A- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
1 @+ M2 Z; ]; x8 m; f; d- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members& ^# a- E- I( Y9 {3 p6 Z
- update ASSIST website
! v% G* F/ ]6 K& \" q$ S7 E- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
; ?; ] S( F- k- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services7 m" J& y% V3 R, ^' s
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time% z. o' B$ R" R7 C. ^7 `- @
- update membership database

Qualifications1 @% u- g- S( k2 t: N
- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of
3 s& ]' r$ L5 l0 H! s( o5 F! ] experience and education ) K* h9 c4 m7 D
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills1 x, |$ f" q) x6 ^ y$ x
- experience in community work and immigrant services3 Y0 ?/ `& p, z: U3 Y ?
- experience in website update/design
$ ~3 ?0 n% r% j; L. a0 `- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset* t, r7 S* m0 O. z0 H+ B
