Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2009

Responsibilities:
* L. l9 \9 \: P1 [/ S- Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the 9 \ j' u' N7 K1 c& o* @" k
preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps% `2 t' u: O2 Q1 O3 D, |2 F$ x z/ J
- Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
/ b" j* ~% M( C+ h% L- Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies, w4 t7 M+ B# u' G
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program

Qualifications:: l! J$ t; F: v2 t+ W2 v$ A
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood ) L$ F' j9 Z [% F& [# k
Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education6 [) ^, Y' ], ^, b8 x3 s
- Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children( ]( p4 d7 G, L" `" Y- B8 ?4 ?
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
2 d& ?' \+ b) R/ F4 e2 U3 R- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities' a! y5 X5 Z& R
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese! K* k$ ] z6 V6 Z3 D5 ? P( e
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
R' r3 s! z; y$ c5 R" t4 `- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
; {+ t2 @6 ~2 n8 ~4 v- Returning student (should return to school after summer)( N/ Y: X' i# O
- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
+ J2 `! S9 @( X. _+ b( O" ^% |- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June (planning) ; a$ k% u& [ |# Z2 Y: C8 S7 Q
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps), G4 T$ N2 |1 @8 \- ]% T* _: K
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009. O0 {9 ^0 W k3 k" L
