Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program : g0 r! H& m' x2 Z7 a; {$ S! Y* P
(ages 6 to 15) & f* _7 |9 S8 N, I8 K
- Recruit children for summer programs( P3 {6 L" i3 B3 @. P( h
- Recruit volunteers for summer programs
5 ]% p4 E$ u Z1 [/ H7 E3 v" F) y- Record keeping
: g6 L$ {! B* S. h/ Z- Provide orientation for parents9 U$ Q- f7 P/ Z x. V G
- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency! D3 P4 i" k9 b
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager3 ]4 S% t2 H# @0 @( d8 {
/ {& u2 _% g9 P" A. t. G J' L: RQualifications:! i: o5 M* J0 a* v: e( r9 t% x7 |, @/ L
- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education
1 O+ Q! A. m* }% f' |8 J3 Y- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
/ e) \0 U3 B4 `" B3 L- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
, g8 v1 w* d7 a s8 q$ Y1 P) c- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities- ^2 `, O$ }$ C# U4 { B
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese- d8 s- g8 q" \5 c6 c$ K
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
& N4 U; _: V8 h$ A1 @- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision! d; N$ l9 P4 C9 [4 L
- Returning student (should return to school after summer)# f i! h. M* i! K

- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning) , i' n8 \2 `! r- b! X: v1 ]
and 8:30am to 4:30pm (35 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)+ N0 I/ ? A# |2 J9 c& e( Y
- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009; D, c9 ]* \. X' G# Y/ {

Salary
