Summer Job Opportunity for Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2009

Responsibilities:
! g* e& v6 F' f! I- i2 i- Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program 4 H% Z; K3 G3 ~/ K1 h& P f* V+ ]
(ages 6 to 15)
+ Z! G: [% A9 d. m. y( A0 |0 I- Recruit children for summer programs
* } ]+ U( E" ]3 w4 X2 N! |+ F9 i- Recruit volunteers for summer programs; F% W, W- D$ @# |) Z/ A
- Record keeping! g% E; T* k& h8 n& J
- Provide orientation for parents
, d. W* k' N& @% ], h- Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency; i" i+ L5 S9 j X) r( Y! M
- Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

- Post secondary student in Education, Social Sciences, Human Sciences, Early Childhood Development, Physical Education or equivalent of experience and education. m' ?/ `! \9 V' }4 b5 K
- Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children- F2 t) @, O% ^0 i& j! S; d- h ?
- Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
/ f! l% |4 W9 A" W* I4 a- Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities4 i/ r; K) g L2 j- ~
- Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese% w+ d+ j* n" Z
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities, t( a; Q7 h9 G d% r3 B/ f
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

8 ?0 A* ~7 V/ I- x/ C- Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm (35 hours/week) in May and June(planning)

- Employment term is May 11 to August 31, 2009
