* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications! t7 o+ r: P7 ?
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis1 w, D# N4 Z' ^
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
, D* @. O- z2 Z* [. r' W* |7 s2 c& L * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students J6 w& Q" o1 F6 J- k1 o
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
