9 w {" \0 [ C' E9 _6 k3 p
/ b3 p. l. X0 V6 n * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications8 k, ~( N3 e% u V% x8 h
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis w+ Q3 t' }( M3 s; G# }
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
% h5 _) C" \# G- P" g7 n1 q * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
; v+ j( f* D7 `& R; S8 G * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications
/ Z) G/ e9 j2 I9 Z( {+ ^
7 U" c& O5 V' Q+ r* j * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
) t- @ f: F6 Z2 k: M! I( e. V * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
