7 M0 j* n e% [ * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
9 _/ c- w- f- R6 k* P2 Z- S * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis' x! l: m8 z' p' b/ w
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
: C7 v9 F* L0 h4 F9 k) M/ S) r * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 3 c* O, I+ Q( ?7 P1 ~
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
