* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications- w7 q, m, t: h8 I2 U4 s
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis- x+ X) {/ e- J* k C2 O) d. H8 Y3 N
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance( B2 M! n/ E+ W
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 2 v8 Z4 x" q1 n: G8 Y0 S( i
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
