* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications* r' h3 M, ]' Z+ T! V7 Y2 A0 F
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis, e0 c8 [+ d7 o
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
: j0 N; I$ L% e9 s I# o * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
* s# D- j; M8 Q * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies2 a7 r! D6 [9 p" u9 o
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
" ~$ u8 [# b# }% w; Z2 ] * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications

* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
