Duties
1 u1 G" Y4 N0 w/ H
9 K- `! i3 {( u5 K. O * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
9 D- @5 O2 O# J! U2 E * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
; B- ]6 \/ Z, q3 l$ B1 S * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
9 A8 \( h5 Z& J& q9 c * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
; \% l$ K) f8 F4 l, k% C * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

Qualifications3 G \( E/ O2 f3 e0 d6 s7 M/ c
7 n+ m) ?# O# k; N4 N5 H1 A * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
