Duties

* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications& Z _. Y2 ~: H0 K9 G3 g: L
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
7 H; N5 L' M7 e6 g, o( K * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance5 Z* u6 r$ s/ y! q5 W( c: c, [6 t
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
* [, m8 @& p9 a% U! ]: t3 E' `5 t; r * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies

* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
