This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and1 |0 S( ^) d/ ]. u o( e9 c3 n
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.& f; R( ^/ }7 q2 H1 _7 i
The program includes the following elements:
& [, M) z4 _0 e9 t( i9 W" _- w• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
7 }/ U% D+ f" p. _6 c! @• Standard Child Care First Aid
4 y* k4 u) _- t5 l4 ~( u• WHMIS
. x1 y) o$ K, ~( C: X' E% p• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
% q+ S( ^+ D9 B• Components to improve communication skills
/ y* p" }5 e' K$ u% Y• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search U( k% B: z) r8 d- W( G9 ^, ]1 g
• Practicum Placements) M& W8 d3 x* }% X( N2 m
Eligibility Criteria8 V* R3 i" S5 l) y5 q2 |* U
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen5 ^1 c4 w) q; ?% v4 y- ]2 p
of Canada
t2 V- _) ]1 B" r c• have a Social Insurance Number& U3 _7 J7 t8 u4 {
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check2 K' V5 _; ^1 \6 m4 T6 Z
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
0 z5 }! ~/ k6 O2 E• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

. O0 S7 L2 S7 n* f0 w" l/ sParticipants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet! a- F. d$ _% F9 |6 D- Y
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:3 C/ D' e6 }8 R/ Y6 i
• be unemployed or underemployed.
