A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.& n8 C- H, ^ b
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and
' l+ m* G4 x/ Kknowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.9 [2 L U% A: @7 S+ \4 Y
The program includes the following elements:# Q v' T2 e0 h# _: g
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)6 E1 `" ^5 R) B9 v1 F
• Standard Child Care First Aid( @+ _5 n c2 ?- h
• WHMIS5 C k$ J7 Z! {+ y1 `" n
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
, v% c) R0 b) L' _7 p$ ~+ h• Components to improve communication skills
9 O8 ~4 l, e5 _& ]: G2 h3 X# {- Q9 v• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search+ J4 g, r+ d+ Y& c- d* H, i1 d. j
• Practicum Placements

. e' G D( P* _6 ]9 [• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
; M7 i1 a; b* f9 \' j$ w2 xof Canada' Y1 ^" L% S7 T! g3 l. [
• have a Social Insurance Number
6 _ b5 _! S: T6 K( g• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check/ t! L/ k% W# ]" r) J; x3 x
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent" U6 p# r8 g$ j! R/ w
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time
