A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions." I/ d4 _' a3 x
The program includes the following elements:% J: j5 x9 L" E4 }* y( ?; p" w
• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
* B: T/ ?% w* e- z+ o- l• Standard Child Care First Aid
5 ` ^; g4 O. R# s8 p n• WHMIS
5 O/ {6 g; `( T• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care& }0 T$ G2 [1 |3 _) w1 s
• Components to improve communication skills2 w) e# c. V" I4 B9 p: h& e6 R
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search+ H1 `& M: F+ s* @
• Practicum Placements; l O/ R2 [3 Y3 T, Y" e; E* v
Eligibility Criteria
0 _8 ]0 {" Z$ h+ ^: j1 u1 I" q# l7 ~• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
5 Q3 {* r$ n0 N( _$ @of Canada
, X2 q D' ^, j. Q) c& r• have a Social Insurance Number% m K! |+ ~6 L$ k! d" w% I
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check, ~, c; D' {3 i1 K
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent
$ R. _% m1 ~$ T• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

: q" R7 ?! b" O1 M; _Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
) ]1 [( I" v& w1 U1 d M4 ~the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:

) z( X A3 N" y' c& lThey CANNOT quit their job to take the course
