The City of Edmonton Bylaw #13145 defines a "restricted dog" as any dog:
' z9 t+ M: n. v% s& ]9 u3 V! r. n; Z: T
That has chased, attacked or bitten any person or animal causing physical injury and resulting in a conviction under this bylaw
! M' m+ e1 m$ [; b, y# p6 zThat has chased, attacked or bitten any person or animal on more than one occasion, with or without causing physical injury, and resulting in separate convictions under this bylaw
7 f6 r2 ^* l; [3 ZThat has been made the subject of an order under the Dangerous Dogs Act
/ v' Y3 h0 x' @7 j; a+ w# @, wCertified by an Alberta licenced veterinarian to be primarily of the breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier as that breed is defined by the Canadian Kennel Club
