The Alberta government, already suffering from declining oil revenue, is now facing a dip in tobacco revenue.

Figures from the quarterly fiscal update show a six percent drop sucking away $50 million dollars from initial budget projections.

That's when smokers will no longer be able to purchase their fix at post-secondary institutions along with businesses containing a pharmacy, and that includes supermarkets.

7 C& k' D/ Q5 P: h9 TBut the Campaign for a Smoke-Free Alberta is still calling for a two-dollar per pack tax increase to make smoking even less affordable.

It points to a recent Health Canada survey which found 20 per cent of Alberta teens smoke, compared with 15 per cent across Canada.
