( H! ?( D T4 D# |Edmonton — Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead in a west-end apartment yesterday morning.

% a4 r! i/ _/ YAmbulance personnel were called to the building at 9023 184 St. at around 4:20 a.m., found the body of a 50-year-old woman inside one of the suites, and called police.

Investigators have not released the cause of death, but are calling the death suspicious.

Police say the address is known to west division officers, who have responded to the suite several times in the past for family-related disturbances. S) t& o+ Q: a3 S; Y

Yellow police tape surrounded the entrance to the eight-unit, three-storey tall building as tight-lipped EPS officers walked in and out of the home throughout the day.

A twisted samurai-style sword lay on the ground a few steps from the entrance, the only sign of anything amiss in the quiet complex.

Though neighbours say they did not hear anything yesterday morning, some say the neighbourhood is less safe than it used to be.
