Duties

( n; [7 u' |# [# |4 J: [. I. q * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program/ }! b) ~9 P( w0 W; z1 }
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities7 T& ?$ E |' Y# y) Z2 l6 P
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes L2 L" U6 {% l( @$ c) A) j ?
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
3 v) {1 m# S5 B. H+ n8 F( V" @4 A * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders

* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
! }5 y" U7 `9 @ * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director

* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials6 b; Q. o1 ?$ ?
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media7 A. w* \" j* X9 [. F
* Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results1 K4 z9 b0 s6 o% G; P
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications5 i. h% |2 J& U) {! w

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
7 J6 d* Q, t' ]. K: ~1 I3 q * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
s) ^2 q- X& D/ m" {! E * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
. Y0 k& l) o. R4 T' F * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
5 \& {) U# V+ {/ N& T; E+ k( m$ y * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
4 M& Z/ f; Q- S2 Y# L6 R9 k * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
