Duties

/ Z7 H( [0 S6 C4 L# J8 H7 X    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
6 B/ H& o6 n9 n; t2 y' y    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
' x( I  e5 T% X$ \3 A9 @9 A; T    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
/ n  L3 \$ a  d2 r3 b    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
5 N: q- y$ u4 E9 H3 r( g    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
. i7 Y5 _* b' c8 @, A0 x4 G1 _    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

. U/ }% n& `! h3 n4 v+ O) F
    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ i; g$ j/ r" _    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
( f0 _( E3 g6 z- f    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
