Duties

/ Z7 H( [0 S6 C4 L# J8 H7 X * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program6 c5 @+ c) R, o, L: n. W0 g
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
6 B/ H& o6 n9 n; t2 y' y * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes9 ^1 m1 F' s+ l" Y+ k: z) J/ a+ F
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
' x( I e5 T% X$ \3 A9 @9 A; T * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders8 d, x9 H! w% n: I8 Z) n
* Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements# Q$ K! x- a& ^; {
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs! U( L6 P, l% [; p5 W
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
/ n L3 \$ a d2 r3 b * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning }+ r7 w$ d3 {1 T6 X% }8 z
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials a' M( K' ]: v$ N0 D, @! G
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
5 N: q- y$ u4 E9 H3 r( g * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred1 f/ m8 X# c n* w5 T
* Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth4 h5 \& c( l& a* L4 l
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
$ i; g$ j/ r" _ * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
( f0 _( E3 g6 z- f * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills) e2 G2 }6 m; c# {
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning6 ^2 N, o" ?0 o' B F0 U+ `
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
$ E4 F! g& |, \, X * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
