Duties- A3 d$ [( ]* j3 S! _
& j1 n. d- s5 z * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
1 b9 |: n8 }6 ~- T- m* j7 ` * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities* L, S8 }0 X4 L3 Q1 V ^
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes! r O2 r' v8 {. b. l" Z
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
$ i( I3 R0 S" ^7 x: M * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
( o$ V# E4 v3 c; S: @1 E2 G3 @ * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements# x K1 l! g/ d" G4 ?/ i
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs5 e$ R9 _! p, G9 X5 O3 d
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director' ^2 b. v; M- k1 x1 [
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
& Q+ O6 J, \) A0 p. I+ G4 n; c$ p * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials/ c; l% y0 J* B8 w1 `2 f
* Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
8 q" O$ V9 N0 w; c' a- [! d * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results: m1 u6 o; J4 m! A1 }. v. Y( y
* Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
" t! }) H! c+ _' E' j* `6 a * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth; S- G* c3 U+ m; e8 @
* Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
4 ^5 D3 q% U1 I6 z6 f# P; z% I6 P% } * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies6 f& m$ X, X$ I% F
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills4 G% y. g" ]* b+ _# `& L6 @
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning `, S" ]$ P' L, \( f
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
