Duties

( n; [7 u' |# [# |4 J: [. I. q    * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program
    * Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities
    * Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes
    * Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat
3 v) {1 m# S5 B. H+ n8 F( V" @4 A    * Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
, U3 T0 }. e0 o' N6 Q0 {7 i. l    * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements
    * Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs
! }5 y" U7 `9 @    * Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director
7 V& y7 e( B% |    * Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning
    * Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
    * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
    * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results
    * Provides support and advice on emerging LGBTTQ youth needs and trends to Institute personnel and partner agencies

Qualifications

    * Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
7 J6 d* Q, t' ]. K: ~1 I3 q    * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
  s) ^2 q- X& D/ m" {! E    * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
. Y0 k& l) o. R4 T' F    * Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies
5 \& {) U# V+ {/ N& T; E+ k( m$ y    * Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills
4 M& Z/ f; Q- S2 Y# L6 R9 k    * Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning
' [* t- ?7 o9 _$ A+ u5 L" L    * Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
    * Excellent communication (oral and written) and analytical skills
